D9 FAM!!
We need to put together a "Get on the Bus 2!"
SUVs and all gas guzzlers are EXTREMELY cheap to rent right now. How about getting together with your chapter and every Org in your area to coordinate routes to take folks to the polls on Voting day...and VIDEO Document it!!! ;D
Can you imagine, all of our beautiful Orgs working together for such a historical day!!
We especially need to take Senior Citizens, but ANYONE who wants to be apart. Each route could be handled by each org and we could fundraise in advance to cover the cost of gas and the rentals!
Can anyone think of a name for the event???

If you want to involve all orgs in your area, and if the NPHC is active in your area, I think it would be good to present this idea to them.
Now I've personally been thinking about doing something like this, but the NPHC isn't active here. So I was just planning to run it by members of my chapter who I think would be down first of all, and then get the word out to my friends in other organizations in the area. I get frustrated with organizations...because alot of people love to talk, but few people take action, at least in my area. So I'd just go to the few people who I know would be willing and do it.
I'm thinking about focusing on primarily Black areas in my city...areas that I KNOW the people don't vote. I want to put voter registration forms in Black churches, barbershops, community centers, etc. to get people registered. I think it would help alot if you could get ministers and community leaders involved. Then, just spread the info about the transportation through fliers and things like that...give them a number to call if they need a ride.
I'm facing the problem of people saying "Well it won't matter anyway, because Alabama always votes Republican." But I don't give 2 shits about that. I feel that if we can get 10 people to vote who wouldn't have otherwise, it was a success.

Word of advice...Host an Election Day Party.
Despite the record number of voters that came out in the primaries, the overall number of eligible voters who voted is still low.
I have learned that folks respond to food! Sponsor some food for after people vote. Sponsor a party...something.
Apathy can be temporarily cured by food. LOL!~
Plus, many parents will come out to vote if they know that they can kill two birds with one stone...VOTE and then feed the kids.
