That is so awesome!
A lot of tragedy happened around my birthday: Aaliyah died the day before, Katrina 3 days after.
But THIS DAY, will be over the top for me. I will remember it for the rest of my life.

I just talked to a 30 something year old friend who has never been registered to vote. I used to always try to convince him to start voting, but he was never interested. Now, because a black man is the Democratic nominee, he is getting registered and will vote. YAAAAAAAAAY!
I wonder how many other folks who never had an interest in voting will now register and vote because of Obama.

I know ALOT of Black people who've never been interested in politics that are involved now. Everytime I go to the barbershop, Obama is the topic of conversation. I really expect this general election to shatter the record for Black voter turnout, and I'll be extremely disgusted if it doesn't.

Can you imagine the emotion that will swell through the Black community when one of ours is standing at the podium accepting that nomination on the same day that one of the greatest Americans made one of the greatest speeches in American history?
There will be tears.
We should accept that as a mandate to not accept 99 1/2.

I just thought about the fact that had I still been working for the Department of Treasury, I wouldn't be allowed to volunteer for Obama's campaign. Funny how things work out like that.

You can still coordinate Cold!!! Put together an action plan....communicate with Orgs in your area, price rental cars, DONATE, plan routes, get Senior Citizen locations, print flyers...
I'm on bedrest...I can't do much but I'm bout to plan this out and hand it to my Chapter then get with the Orgs at my school and MAKE IT HAPPEN!!
