Ok, I was hesitant to post this at first because I believe that people can support whoever they want for office. But at this time, when Hillary has no legitimate chance of winning the nomination, I wonder what people, especially black elected officials have to gain from continuing to support Clinton for presidency and/or attempting to pressure Obama to take her as VP. CNN just reported that Bob Johnson is going to pressure the black caucus to support having Clinton as the VP. You have Stephanie Tubbs Jones the black member of the House of Representatives from Ohio en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephanie_Tubbs_Jones; whose district went overwhelmingly for Obama. Yet she is a very vocal supporter for Clinton. Same story with Sheila Jackson Lee www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Sheila_Jackson_Lee. I was pleased to see Maxine Waters finally move over to support Obama yesterday. I was surprised that it took her so long. I have to believe that these people were promised something if Clinton had been elected. The elected officials are catching hell in their districts because they have overturned the will of the folks they represent by continuing to support Clinton. You got Bob Johnson pressuring the other black elected officials to accept Hillary as VP for "party unity". Where was his focus on party unity when he was talking about Obama's drug use? Where was his focus on party unity when he united with other high dollar donors and sent a letter to Pelosi stating that they would not continue to donate to the democratic party if they did not support Hillary? I am just very frustrated and disappointed. The Clintons are using these folks as pawns to maintain power. We have an excellent candidate in Obama and I just don't get why black folks in particular would over look him and continue to participate in Hillary's manipulations. I hope the elected officials are sent packing during their next re-election bid. Bob Johnson...well I think he has pimped the black community long enough. He has gained money and power to our detriment, and still has no shame. I just hope that the black caucus sees through this obvious attempt to force Obama to accept someone as a running mate who is only seeking personal gain.

So is Harold Ford, Jr.
These saps feel like they will fare better under a Clinton administration than an Obama administration.

Willie Brown is another Clinton supporter.
I wonder if some of the black male politicians are jealous. I didn't know that Harold Ford was a Hillary supporter, although I suspected it by watching MSNBC.
Like I said before, I tried to reserve judgement on those who supported Hillary early on. But as the campaign progressed and she began to lose and resorted to dirty tricks, I would have expected some defections. When it became numerically impossible for Hillary to win and yet she continued with her dirty tricks, I would have expected even more defections, not just from black folks, but from anyone who says they care about the democratic party. But I admittedly did expect it more from black folks.
Hillary has painted herself as the victim and Obama as the perpetrator. He has never called racism, but she cries sexism at every turn. Obama has been far more respectful to her than she deserves, but she and Bill continue to attack him. At this point, she can't win...the only thing she can do at this point is continue to stoke the anger of her female supporters to make it difficult for Obama to win. Knowing this, I ask again...what is in it for these black folks??

I'm just disgusted that people think he should even look at Hillary as a running mate! She has done everything she possibly could to villify Obama and he's supposed to extend an olive branch to her??? Bull.
If Obama had done the same to Hillary, he wouldn't even be in the race now and he could kiss a Senate reelection bid goodbye!
Obama should thee these Toms to kiss his Presidential behind!

They are indeed idiots and surely Uncle Tom's with nice ass cabins.
It makes no fucking sense why they are FORCING the party to make OBAMA decide that Hillary SHOULD be his VP.
That bitch couldn't give Obama credit for PREFESSIONALLY beating her ass in front of the ENTIRE U. S. OF A.!!!!!! She showed the type of person she REALLY is last night. I don't want her with ANY type of government position.

I'm sure most, if not all of them "owe" the Clintons in some way, which is why they continue to support her. For those who didn't benefit from the Clintons in some way, they're probably still trying to maintain their allegiance to what is arguably the most powerful & influential family in the Democratic party.
John Lewis down here was the same way...that is until he suddenly had a viable, well-liked competitor in the race for his House seat. He can say all he wants that he switched his vote b/c that's the way his constituency voted, bit he didn't switch over until over a month later. I would guess that with these other folks, their constituencies haven't directly threated their chances at re-election yet. If that were to happen, I get the feeling that some of them may change their tune.
As for Bob Johnson...he is the personification of an Uncle Tom, so I wouldn't expect him to be any different.

I was really really disappointed in him. i mean this joker marched along side dr. king, walked arm and arm while white people threw bricks, rocks, spit in his face, etc. and he STILL endorsed KKKlinton until, we threated to kick his old behind out of office. Sorry John, too little too late.

Who are the real Uncle Toms in UTC? If you read it, you would probably know, unless you purposely decided to stick your head in the sand.

I heard on the news yesterday that many of Clinton's supporters wanted to throw their weight behind Obama after he clinched the nomination, but she "wouldn't let them go."

I don't have a problem with the Clinton supporters, but I do have a problem with the charade continuing. Its fine, your candidate lost. It happens. Now move on, support the party's candidate and take back the White House.....
But no.... these mf'ers don't know when to quit, and will in the end be the reason the GOP has the white house for another 4 years.
