I won't make this long, but now Obama has declared separation from his church. They ain't satisfied till they have the Black man not going to church so that all of the "He's an Extreme Fundamentalist Jihadist Muslim" rumors can resurface. Now that he doesn't have a church home, they will say he wasn't Christian all along. Cuz what good Christian doesn't have a church home? SMH I hate this B.S.! So now does the American people have to vote on which chruch he goes to? Is it like American Idol now? Which church is the right one? Let's just bring in a British judge to comment on the sermons of all pastors in the country, and have you call in to determine the Pastor of your President! Someone in the press conference actually had the nerve to ask him if he was going to join "another Black chu..Ahem HISTORICALLY Black church..." Obama could only respond with "That's an interesting question..." White man ain't satisfied till he paint a black man in a corner... >>>>I know that sounds like a quote from a character "The Color Purple," but it ain't. That's how I feel. damn! I didn't comment on the Father Pflegler remarks because I would've just echoed what I said about Jeremiah Wright's public display. This is exactly what I was afraid would happen. Strip the Black African from his religion, and the caricature about the race is complete... --They're animals without religion and moral compass, savages and without the mental fortitude to lead white people-- That's what many are saying. I just hope it's not the majority. www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/31/obama.church/index.html

There must be two sides! Obama had to denounce the man who opened him up to God, he is now wearing a flag pin after dust-ups were made about him not wearing one and now he is leaving his church!!!!!
He is selling his soul. And they are still gonna hate him.

This is their last hope. They know that black folks won't vote for a perceived uncle tom. I know his marrige is taking a huge hit. This is so Ghei. This shouldlet all black people know the lengths that white America will go to stop black people from succeeding. I don't wanna hear no more bs about thing's have changed. I see the same shit sitting in a different toilet.

"He is selling his soul. And they are still gonna hate him."
That is why it is so important to remain true to yourself. When you begin to do things that are out of character so that you can win, this is what happens.
He might win the Presidency, but would he have lost of part of himself in the process?

Just walk with the brother and have faith Amen VP. This is why I am so bothered by this and I hope that we don't allow this to discourage us from voting for him. This is yet another YT ploy to divide and destroy. YT will use racism, religion, perceived sexism (that's big right now) to keep the focus on KKKlinton staying in this race.

Yeah. I understand he's doing his thing. My beef is not with Obama. It's with the media and the friggin' church leaders!
But for real those a-holes on FOX are still talking about..."It took him too long...He still has to answer for this!" Never satisfied. Build people up just to tear them down.

The white folks and the uncle tom negroes are trying their best to break this man. Trust and BELIEVE he just playing their game, and I bet this hurts him deeply to do so.
I don't blame the church leaders. Rev. Wright was quoting a WHITE man, but that has been brought to the surface. Father Pflager was just telling the truth about Hilary and now white people are calling him racist. This is just ridiculous.
Father Pflager was right. Hilary that she had this in the bag and that she thought she DESERVED it b/c she was an ex-first lady and that she's white.
White people don't like having the truth thrown back in their face because not only does it hurt to much but they can't take what they dish out. That's just keeping it real.

Oh, I understand playing the game. That is what politics is all about and why many people, especially me, would not be successful in that arena.
The whole time I was playing the "game" I'd wonder how far I'd have to go to stay on top.
My opinion of him has not changed because of his decision.

I've seen people leave the church because they never got to sing their song in the choir. He is FAR from being a sell-out. When he gets to D.C., he can join a good-ole AME church. I hear Metropolitan AME is really good.

Let's see here: Republican presidential candidate John McCain fell victim to this rule last week when he was forced to reject the endorsement of mega-televangelist Reverend John C. Hagee. McCain actively sought Hagee's support to bolster his credentials among the Christian right, which views him as not conservative enough for its taste.
The pastor calls the Catholic church "the whore of Babylon," and he saw Hurricane Katrina as a divine judgment on the gay community of New Orleans. But this did not seem to bother McCain overmuch. The clip that surfaced on the web last week, however, was another matter. It showed a Hagee sermon in which he said that Adolf Hitler and the Nazis were God's messengers, part of his plan to chase the Jews from Europe and back to the land of Israel.
And he can simply denounce Hagee, and be done! No elaborate press coverage, NOTHING!
MIND YOU...this is a man KNOWN to make these remarks (The statement about the Jews was made ten years ago!) and this was a man McCain SOUGHT OUT for political purposes!!
But Obama, is raked over the coals, for statements made by his Rev. whom he sought out for Religious purposes, as well as a VISITING priest?!?
WHITE PRIVELDGE...DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!!

I do not believe that Obama is selling his soul because he left his church. Perhaps that is because I am also not a fan of Jeremiah Wright or United Church of Christ.
::shrugs::
When all is said and done Obama's final and only true judge is God. It kills me how folks believe in this extreme loyalty to a church and pastor.
All Black folks are not of the same school of thought when it comes to God, religion, and hell MOST things. The media is killing me on this one...for real.

Yeah, I don't think it's selloutish, either. Rev. Wright, IMHO, wasn't helpful to his campaign at all, and even made some disparaging remarks about Obama. That in and of itself would have led me to quit.
He's just tired of being held responsible for/linked to EVERYTHING that comes from that pulpit. There was really no reason to even bring his name up in the whole Pflagler incicent.

He also left because he said that his membership there was bringing too much negative attention on the church and its members. He wants them to be left alone to worship in peace. I LOVE Father Pfleger. He was telling the truth. I think part of the problem is that Wright and Pfleger are now only known for the "negative" remarks they have made. No one is looking at the whole picture and the work that these 2 men have done in the community. Obama first met Pfleger when he was a community activist in Chicago. Pfleger has been out there working in the black community for decades and by all accounts has done a lot of good.
