First things first. The church with which Obama is associated is the one in Chicago. They appear to have a different mission than the one just listed. I have seen no evidence to indicate that Obama would associate with this church should he be elected President

UCC is too liberal for me. I find that some of their practices are not Biblical. YES, God wants all types of people to come to him, but that doesn't mean that a church should go out of its way to make those living in a life of sin (fornication, homosexuality, etc...) feel comfortable. To me, there is a difference. Come as you are, but don't expect the scripture to be twisted and turned or straight up ignored for your sake.

Anyway, when election time comes, that's neither here nor there. I'm not going to love everything about every candidate.

I thought those who believe in the American-version of Capitalistic-Democracy likewise support the concept of "Separation of Church & State". If this is true, then why all the concerns regarding a candidate being ROMAN CATHOLIC, MORMON, or a member of the UCC ??

There is NO separation between the two; and those who purport that there is a SEPARATION are only deceiving themselves. When an individual enters the Ballot-Booth, he/she does not MAGICALLY leave his/her religious & social opinions and concepts outside in the Parking Lot.

I had them SAME opinion during the CLINTON-LEWINSKY Scandal. Many Bible*Thumpers wanted to condemn CLINTON for getting some "knowledge (brain)" from Monica; and wanted to IMPEACH him.

The truth-of-the-matter is this: You DID NOT elect him [or any past President] for his MORAL character; 'cause if you did, HALF of them would've NEVER attained the office of PRESIDENT.

I see where the Church in Annadale is in favor of gay marriage. I see that. I also went to look up Barack's church in Chicago and I am unable to find an acknowledgement where they say the same. I know you don't mean to deliberately misrepresent Barack (or anyone else).

For the record I am NOT in favor of it - and that's me. I personally choose NOT to be a part of a church that holds such a view. Again that's me.

In any event, I don't think ANYONE is falling for the "gay marriage" canard this time around. Bush used it to get elected and did NOTHING on the issue (that I can see) for 8 years.

I know someone affiliated with Barack's church in Chicago. They have no problem with gay marriage there. Once again, it's a very liberal church. I'm not sure if Barack himself is in favor of actual gay marriage.

Either way, as I said before, there is not nor will there ever be a candidate with whom I share 100% of their political and/or moral views. That's not possible.

I knew of Barack's church from get and it hasn't significantly affected my opinion of him as a leader.
