In light of the recent New York Governor prostitution scandal I propose this topic:
Would you stand by your mate if they were accused of infidelity? Imbezzlement? Homosexual activity?
Just look at the cases: Kwame, Spitzer, Clinton...then you have the "skin flute" playing Governor of NJ and the "foot tappin" Idaho Congressman Larry Craig....
In each case, the offender had his wife sitting right next to him while he apologized (or denied in one case)
Discuss....i'll give my opinion later.

Yeah if he had the press conference some months later...day of me and the world finding out??...he wouldn't want me that close to him and especially where he can only rely on his peripheral vision to see what I am doing...

If he is on tape admitting to guilt to any of the crimes that you mentioned: No. I am not going to stand by my "man" in support of his wrong doing.

LOL @ Sista imagining her standing by her man, in a Vera Wang, Hermes hand bag, and chinchilla furcoat - all purchased with embezzled funds.
LOL
Press: Sista - you've heard the allegations - do you still stand by your man? Sista: I'm sorry I couldn't hear you over the clanging of pink diamonds on my bracelet could you repeat the question? Press: Do you still stand by your man? Sista: Yes - at least until April 1st when I get my taxes done Press: So apparently you don't see a problem with what he's done? Sista: Apparently you don't see this Hermes pocket book I'm rocking. Get bent news man I ain't going nowhere to the wheels fall of this gravy train.
*Strokes fur and smirks*

I don't know what I'd do in that situation. Me standing next to him would depend on what he did. IF it was for infidelity then I'd be at home with the kids and he's be up there by himself

Apparently there must be some class that politicians wives take. They all do it. They all stand there in support of their husbands. Now, I don't necessarily think that people should automatically get divorced due to adultery, it would depend on the situation. But I think it is extra cruel to ask your spouse to stand there in front of the world as you apologize for your foolishness. Adultery is difficult enough to deal with, but to have to deal with it while the world watches must be a special kind of hell.

I think it's interesting that so many women say this but in every case, the wife is standing right there by their husband.
It may be that way because of the position. Women who are married to men in high profile positions know the game. They aren't stupid.

When a person goes deep into politics (i.e. holding a public office or being the spouse of one who does), more than likely, they've already consciously signed onto the game of 'saving face.' It is easy to say that we would not stand there by our man, but such behavior (however fake or humiliating) undoubtedly comes with the territory.
The person that I am right now, I do not believe for a second that I would ever stand by my man in such a case, but maybe the real difference is that I would not be married to a politician because I know what I would be signing up for and it's just not me.
Similarly, I could not be pastor's wife smiling all pretty knowing he has azz on the side right in the congregation, etc...
To deal with an affair is one thing, to deal with it in front of millions of people and not be 'allowed' to show any form of upset is a whole other story, and that right there is just NOT 'Diva.

For 5,500 an hour.... I doubt they're not clean....... Now $12 bucks on the corner....... is a different story The price of coochie should be rising like gas prices and paying $12 should be a thing of the past like the 10 cent phone calls...at least it should be if all of these so called "hustlers" are worth their salt
