Ummm I think we have to be careful about what we read, take-in or even take to the bank. Like this story perhaps, do we know if DD really wrote or said this (yes, I know he's capable) but, was he the author? So many times we take things for face value with out questioning it's sources (if any listed), time frame, or any other historical accounts that well back a letter, book, or even a quote. When I read this letter I asked myself...." Jungle fever? in 1977? were they saying that back then? Let's say 4,ooo black men were being murdered since 1975. 33years? It's now 2008, if the murders were still going on at that rate and up to THIS year (doing a little math) That's 132,000 of us LOL. A lot of us wouldn't be hear now. So let's be a little Leary of the info that we put out in our communities. This letter also reminded me of another fictional letter that infested out community...That WILLIE LYNCH thing. At any rate both letters sound like a black man wrote them.

That letter is old. I saw it floating around the internet when I was still in undergrad. Sadly there are some folks that feel that way. Does that mean everything in them is valid or and indictment on black folks. Its not what they call you its what you answer too. We as a community have work to do but we forget that other races do to. Its mess like this letter and other hateful acts that are on the rise in this country that confirm this is true. Hate and racism is alive so while we clean up our own mess we need to be mindful that others need to also and that they are not the benchmark for what is right or successful.
