I know some folks close to Kobe's family and what I have been told is that the young Vanessa was pregnant and her daddy was threatening to file some charges if they didn't walk down the aisle...she lost this child. Were they in love? Yes. Was it a shotgun wedding though? Yes. |

That's what I heard. Wasn't Kobe's family DEAD set against him marrying her?? I heard that it was a long time before thay really reconciled.
I also heard that he was dating a black girl when Vanessa got knocked up, but dumped her so he could marry Vanessa.

I don't think Kobe's family wanted it to go down the way it did, not sure if they liked Vanessa, but I mean he was very young too...so I can only imagine. What I know for sure is that her dad would have filed statutory rape charges if the 2 did not wed because she had a bun in the oven...
This information came straight from Kobe's dad's mouth to my source.

They may Hyp, but maybe her family didn't want the 'humiliation' of their knocked up teenager running around as the NBA player's silly jump-off.
The baby-mama factor still has a lot of folks doing things that are not necessarily logical.
Like I said, I'm not down-playing Kobe and Vanessa's relationship, because I also heard that the two really did have it bad for each other, young as they were...

If anything she probably sticking around out of spite. I wouldn't be surprised. I highly doubt she is emotionally happy.
