I'm watching an episode of "Snapped!" in which a woman killed her two sons who were suffering from Huntington's Disease, a horrible hereditary incurable neurological disorder.
Her husband's mother first had the disease and died a horrible death, then her husband was diagnosed with the disease and tried to commit suicide. She stopped him, and he made her promise to kill him before it got too bad. She didn't. Instead, she put him in a nursing home where he suffered for 13 more years.
Almost immediately after he died, her two olders sons both developed the disease. Their conditdion deteriorated rapidly and she put them in a nursing home. One day, she shot them both in the head. She said they had living wills and wanted her to kill them before they suffered too much.
What would you do in this situation?? Could you take the life of someone you love to keep them from suffering?? What are your opinions on assisted suicide??
