I finally finished watching the movie.
I watched it in the 3 parts over a few days...here's a rundown
Part 1 - Attempts to discredit Christianity by claiming that there were similar figures in ancient and recent history that preceded Christ with similar stories and characteristics. It also says that this common "myth" was created and recycled based upon astrological symbols and principles.
It also talks about the power of religion and its use to enslave people.
My TakePsalm 19:1-5 and
Romans 1:20Basically, I feel that God has told this story of salvation through His creation, and there are others who have taken it and either misconstrued it or purposefully changed it for their own gain.
Now, I do feel that religion is sometimes misused and misrepresented to control people and for financial, political and social gain.
Part 2 - Talks of the hitory of war and the inciting incidents that propel countries into war, specifically the U.S. VERY compelling evidence and stories. It goes so far as to claim that the destruction of the World Trade Center towers was an inside job, a planned event to throw us into a "war" on terrorism.
My TakeI'm not ready just yet to agree with that or believe that Osama Bin Laden didn't blow up the towers or that the U.S. government CAUSED that event to happen, however, the VISUAL EVIDENCE presented, as well as, first hand accounts the day of the event, are STRONG. I didn't realize the accounts of people until they were played back to back, of course, because of the emotional stress of the event as a whole.
Great job at making their argument.
Part 3 - An indictment of the Federal Reserve System. I had to watch it again, just to be sure I understood what the filmmaker was saying. They claim that the Federal Reserve is
NOT a government entity. In fact, they are a group of private bankers who control not only the U.S. money, but the government as well. All of that is accomplished because they control the government. They also have the grand masterplan of forming a world government, ID system and currency, etc.
Basically the Illuminati itself. And no, they didn't say that any of them were Freemasons, lol!
My TakeThis by far is the section with the least amount of HARD evidence. You really have to take a big leap of faith to believe what they say. The evidence is circumstantial at best with hearsay and innuendos. If it were to stand on its own, it would be a horrible argument, buttressed up against the other 2 parts though, it is believable.
The other thing I found interesting is that through its claims in the 3rd part, it actually gave credence to fulfilling some of the eschatological prophecies in the Bible which it fought so hard to discredit in part 1. :shrugs:
I would like to discuss it. I wrote the summaries, because I realize not many of you would spend 2 hours watching the movie, but if you read the summaries...What do you think?
