This question is for every one raised in church, and to this day still attend...
When you think about your religious views and practices or lack there of...are you more so going to church solely because going to Church / Temple every Sunday has been your routine since birth, or do you just truly understand the word?

I truly understand the Word.
I was raised in the church and, for a time, attended just because it was what I considered the right thing to do. Now, I truly love God and want to know all I can about Him. I no longer attend the church of my childhood, because it could no longer meet my needs spiritually. I have been blessed to belong to a body of believers that challenges my spiritual growth and encourages me through trials and difficulties.
I have learned so much about God and the more I learn about Him, the more I love Him.

I am constantly learning more and more about how truly awe-inspiring God is. Although I fell to the wayside for a minute, I am more solid and determined in my relationship with Him. A personal relationship with God is just that. Personal. And no one can improve it or strengthen it for you but you. The more one understands this, the more effort they will put into their service. Make the Truth your own and everything else in your life will fall into place.

My understanding constantly grows. If something doesn't make sense to me, I will not continue it for the sake of "tradition". There's no way I'd get up on Sunday morning when I could be sleeping late and attending church if I didn't see the benefit or wasn't getting anything out of it.

I feel that I understand the word and at the same time, I am still learning more! I continue to seek more and more knowledge through the word which will help me avoid the temptations in life and help warn others. My striving to learn more and continuing to learn more, everyday I am getting closer with God

It's good that you are not in the habit of doing things for the sake of doing them, Z. You'd be surprised at the number of people who have been in church all of their lives and have continued to do things because "it has always been done that way". That is a pet peeve I have in dealing with church people. Some traditions have no scriptural foundation, but people just accept them at face value and even use those traditions to condemn others who don't believe as they do. That is why it is so important for us to read the Word of God for ourselves and pray for God's wisdom and understanding in rightly dividing the Word. God will reveal His will to all who sincerely and diligently seek Him.
And bulls3y3, continue to strive to know all you can about God. I have devoted the past 18 years to studying God's word and have post-graduate work in theology, but I am still learning new things about His word. The more I know Him, the more I love him.
It is always a pleasure to encounter people who want a real and true relationship with God, and not to just to check church attendance and bible study off on their list of things to do.
