GREEK?
Now that you've become a part of the group who I believe can and will change our communities for the better, how has these groups changed you? If your self esteem higher? Do you see non Greeks as being beneath you now that you've made it to a place that's hard to get to?

You have to be confidence or have high self esteem to want to join a NPHC org.
Non-Greeks vs Greek -- that's foolishness!
Biggest change -- I have really meet alot of wonderful people from my org as well as others that I may not have crossed paths!

I think that is absolutely beautiful Priss.....I also believe that the person they accepted for membership is who you should always remain, but sadly, I know a few people who definitely changed for the worse and I know have a family member who went greek and it changed them for the very best!!

I met new people, made new connections, etc. I didn't personally change, but I've added alot to my life that wasn't there.

Works at various community projects and fundraising Signed up to be a mentor for one year. Increased my appearances at church from only on Easter ;D Made tons of connections, and a few friendships Left behind old associations which were not good for me (people still going to jail, getting high, etc.... - I am not ABOVE them, but I have moved BEYOND them). Feels part of DC vice simply living in the area. Constantly spending money on someone elses crabfeast, old school party, boatride, Dinner, Brunch, etc Bottom line -

I say my self esteem is higher. I feel more aware of my greekness especially when wearing naila. I feel the need to watch myself and be on my best behavior not ever let my action reflect badly on my sorority. Also now I'm more determine to do better so that I can take my letter with me as I achieve. My goal is to become one of the more honorable members of my sorority. GREEK? Now that you've become a part of the group who I believe can and will change our communities for the better, how has these groups changed you? If your self esteem higher? Do you see non Greeks as being beneath you now that you've made it to a place that's hard to get to?

Outside of being busier. Mine didnt. <--- was who she was before she got "there" Amen amen amen amen!!!!!!!! If you "change" when you become greek, you had no identity in the first place! When you all of a sudden become about your organization, then seriously, you weren't about anything to start with. So, other than gaining new friends and having more responsibility, my life didn't change either!

I will be honest and say yeah it did socially when I was in school. I was kinda rambunctious while in school but after I became a bruh I just carried on doing some of the things I was already doing but the fuckery started and my quality chick or shall I say perceived quality chick count started to dwindle. Even had haters who would say "Don't fuck wit that niggah all he gonna do is try to turn you out then set you out to his bruhz them niggahs are crazy" Even my own LB's after tipping out on their girlfriend's would always use "Aww I was ova VP's crib, yanno that niggah always got something going on but I didn't participate." No niggah you wasn't here... And if you were you would've participated if chit was going down with chicks I had over. In plain yes I was out there but the perception of what I was doing was FAR overblown. I didn't recover until years later with that particular crowd. It's almost like every chick that I tried to holla at while in school who was like "hell naw then everybody would think I'm a slut and a set out" has made it pop for your boy in the last few years. shit kinda crazy. So this frat dude perceived quality coochie meter took a hit after becoming a bruh and now them seem chicks out being wild catching up on lost time they missed and still expecting me to be the same VP. Like naw shawty I did my partying and crazy stuff. I'm good but you can tip on over a lil later though if you like..

I bring up self esteem because I know some one who went into pursuing membership with a chip on his shoulder, ego is definitely a false self esteem, but when he crossed, he was humbled and now have a real confidence...so he has high self esteem now.
