I'm getting what yall are saying about the dispatcher needing to be reprimaned, but other than that, I dont see where her LACK of Caring Affected Shiela being rescued. I just don't see it. Whether she said she didnt care or not, it would'nt have changed the outcome. So what are you guys arguing? 'Cuz the stupid broad said that mess out loud, to be recorded.

I guess Nupe what the issue is, is that it should have never been said out loud...... You are totally Correct Z. So I'm sure we can agree that the Police Department could've have kept this story as an Internal Issue since Sheila wasn't affected one way or the other. When I call T-Mobile and tell them my problems, I could care less what they say about me when they put me on Hold, as long as they fix what I asked them to fix. If a T-Mobile supervisor walked by and heard an Employer calling me an Idiot while I was on hold, I dont want or need to know if they were reprimanded or not.

I'm not saying Sheila is right for saying what she said, But I'm saying the Citizen who was being attacked didnt HEAR her say it did she? While the victim herself didn't HEAR what the dispatcher said, the call was STILL BEING RECORDED and the Nashville 911 Center has it documented. THEY HEARD WHAT SHEILA SAID TO THE VICTIM. Now if something would have happened to the victim in question, every single 911 phone call she made can be used in the court of law.
If the victim in question decides to bring a lawsuit, guess what? Every single call she made to 911 can be used in the court of law. Nupey, please re-read the bolded.

I'm not saying Sheila is right for saying what she said, But I'm saying the Citizen who was being attacked didnt HEAR her say it did she? The point is.....she had to call numerous times to get help. Why do you think that was? Because someone "didnt care"...whether they said it aloud or not is of no consequence. It's the fact that someone in the public service industry feels that way. If you dont like your job, go find something else to do. The unemployment line is plenty long and someone is and WILL do it better. That is deplorable for someone to say or even THINK in this situation...whether it was out loud or to themselves. Somebody not caring about why you are 10 days late on paying your credit card or why your cable is out is one thing...not caring that someone is PHYSICAL danger is another. I dont understand why someone has to spell that out to you.

yall do realize that we're saying the same thing over and over again? LOL
Maybe people should think twice about working in any job that's about serving people. I'm tired of people who take these jobs and don't give a dayum and when their actions begin to reflect that they get fired or cursed out and are sitting there wondering why.

She's wrong in everyway, But all I'm saying is there is NO reason the Police Department had to release this info if the Caller didnt hear it. They should've just reprimanded the Operator and kept it in house. Thats all I'm saying. What good does it do to report this?

The hyperlink had a few details that I don't remember from the article as posted here. It stated that the tape was obtained through a News Channel 5 investigation. I don't know a lot about Freedom of Information (I have attorneys for that), but they may have been obligated to release it under FOI. I couldn't imagine them wanting to voluntarily release this information because it paints the entire emergency center in a negative light. JMO.

Anytime something awful is exposed good is done. If that means that one more 911 does a more efficient job or takes their job more seriously, something has been accomplished. Keepin it under wraps and hush hush is not helpful. Sometimes people need to be made an example of. These 911 operator issues arent rare either, something similar happened up here recently. And I vaguely remember one time where a child had to call over and over because his grandmother had a heart attack and the response was poor. Just think if you found out that was your daughter or fiance being beat up and dude made that comment. You wouldnt be outraged?
