Definitely not... but I'm sure a lot of people are shallow enough to think so. That being said... I was thrilled the G-men beat the Patriots...lol.
We have a way of creating imaginary conflict for our enjoyment. God is pleased when we find God and follow His footsteps, regardless of your 40 time or ability to throw a spiral.

Well...God doesn't like cheaters *cough* *cough* PATRIOTS!!! *cough*
And might I add that my mighty Colts do play on sacred ground.
Before the RCA was erected as to where it is today, there was once a baptist church on the exact spot of the playing field.

The reason I posed this question is my wife and I were talking and she asked me if I ever felt that celebrities were really favored by god more than non-celebrities, hence all the material wealth they accumulate. I told her God did not care if Beyonce won a Soul Train Award, or if Puffy drives a Bentley or who ever wins the Superbowl. I guess it's the right thing to say thank you god, but if you subscribe to the concept of WWJD?, than would Jesus drive a Rolls?

God is in control so it's all His doing, it is by His design and for His purpose...everything is part of His plan...

God is in control so it's all His doing, it is by His design and for His purpose...everything is part of His plan... I agree. Just because a person is wealthy or successful by the world's standards doesnt' make him favored by God. And all of God's favored are not wealthy. I have had to learn that just because I serve God with all my heart doesn't mean I am going to have all that I desire all the time. Right now, I would describe my family's economic standard as "comfortable". Would I like to have more? Sure. I may never be wealthy, but God know why that is. Part of God's favor is knowing that He will not give us anything that will separate us from Him. Proverbs 12:2 "A good man obtains favor of the Lord..."

Well I don't plan on passing up any of my blessings. If God allows me to his humble servant and have a 3 story house with a basement, I won't deny it. Can I get an Amen??? But at the same time, it is common for the rich to ignore the blessings that God has given them. Is it not easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the kingdom of God??? Know that everything you have is from God. Be sure to always give thanks to the Lord, and have a giving heart to those who are less fortunate.

Amen.
Just like wealth doesn't make you favored, poverty doesn't make you favored, either.

One glaring mistake a lot of my preacher colleagues make is this... Many have interpreted the scripture "The thief comes to steal kill and destroy, but I come that you may have life and life more abundantly". What is that abundant life? Is it a Benz, a fine wife that can cook and a flat screen on the wall? Nope! Jesus promises abundant life to His disciples and Paul, Peter, James, Andrew, Thomas...etc.. had that abundant life when they were being executed for being His disciples... That abundant life is eternal and not at all defined by what you have materialistically. Now, would I mind a nice house with a couple flat screens...nope! But thats not a "blessing", its a combination of good credit and a decent income.

But Jay...doesn't God bless you with the ability to earn that income? So isn't it still a blessing?

Funny you should mention that.....I usually think that alot of this "famous" people have deals with Satan. If you look at how some of these people are accumulating wealth, there is no way you can associate that success with God. I think some of these people sell their souls to the Devil for fame and fortune. Seriously. Just one lil brown girl's opinion.
