Jay just mentioned hearing from God. I can honestly say that I have NEVER actually heard God's voice.
I had a friend that said he could actually HEAR God, and that he would only say one or two words.
How does God "sound" to you?

and everything is tested through and by His Written Word Amen to that... I don't have God in the box... God used a donkey to speak to Balaam so to me, I can hear from God anywhere, by anything. 99.9% of the time, something happens and makes me think of a scripture that I've read some time ago. Once, I was praying and all of the sudden I felt God leading me to a subject that I've never read about before. Lo and behold, I "heard" the scripture in my head before I even read it. My reading it was the confirmation I needed though.

I talk to God all the time and God leads me through different ways
Example - One day I was having a really hard time with something I decided to stop at a gas station (I didn't need to fill up but I stopped anyway). I was so upset that the first person that asked me what's wrong I burst out crying. I told her the whole story and she gave me advice that helped a little. It turns out that person was a minister.

The devil speaks to us,too, and if we don't know God's word and keep on the whole armor of God, satan can easily deceive us. Aside fromt that, God does what He wants, when He wants, and through whom He wants. Back to the original question, though, when the Lord speaks to me in an audible voice, it is generally a still, small voice, and in just a few words. That is why I feel it is important to rest in the presence of God and not be in a hurry all the time. If you are not mindful, you can miss the still, small voice of God.

Cam you know you wrong. LOL
God speak to you through the word, through your spirit and sometimes through other people. I have had many a confriming word spoke to me through people who knew nothing of what I was going through or pondering but through their obedience and willingness to possibily look real foolish they spoke and confirm that which God had already dealt with me about in my spirit.

for me it is a calm that comes upon me in the most difficult of situations, it is clarity when things are absolutely incomprehensible and chaotic...just a sense of peace and comfort in the midst of things breaking lose all around you

This morning I had the feeling that I should ask my husband if he wanted me to start up his car. I usually don't ask, but for some reason I felt compelled to ask him this morning. When I started up his car the battery was completely dead. I went in the house and told him that he could drop me off to work and my daughter to school with my car. Had I not offer to start up his car, he and my daughter would have been stranded at home with no transporattion. On top of that, today was a very important day for him on his job. I truly believe GOD led me to offer to start up the car.

I usually hear from God on several occasions, but namely when:
I drink myself into an oblivion...or a stupor...which ever comes first.
I have heard HIM call me a dumb drunk ass once....
I have also heard HIM say " I can take all that has been given, away!"....I usually hear that when I see a really great piece of ass walking across the street...*shrugs*
