Greetings from the Beta Alpha Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. from Florida A&M University. We have been granted the greatest opportunity of a lifetime! Our chapter will be competing against Kappa Sigma fraternity at Florida State University in raising money for a non profit organization for Oprah's Big Give with ABC. ABC 27 has been broadcasting all of our fundraising events for the past two weeks and there will be a follow up story at the end of the competition. Help us represent you and all Deltas across the nation. This is a two week competition and we are in need of your support. There is an official sponsorship letter attached with detailed information, and a publicity ad that ABC posted below. We are asking that you, or your chapter, donate $25.00-$1000. 00 in order to help us with this endeavor. This competition has been great exposure to Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and we as Deltas are always winners! Please know that the deadline for checks to be postmarked is April 5th 2008! Oprahs' Big Give With ABC 27
What is Oprah's Big Give With ABC 27?
We're challenging a local sorority and fraternity and YOU to Give Big by holding fundraisers to benefit their charities. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority of FAMU and Kappa Sigma Fraternity of FSU will compete to see who can raise the most money for their causes. They will each host a variety of fundraising events including a live telethon on ABC 27. At the end of the contest they will split $10,000 from Oprah's Big Give with the first place winner receiving $6,000 and the second place winner receiving $4,000.
Delta Sigma Theta will be raising money for the Delta Success Trust Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to improve the quality of life for under served women and youth in the community through educational, career and personal development services that promote intergenerational connection and lifelong pursuit of goals.
Kappa Sigma will be raising money for a family who has a family member suffering from Multiple Sclerosis and cannot afford treatment.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority will start March 24 th and go through April 6 th raising money for the Delta Success Trust Foundation.
The mission of the foundation is to improve the quality of life for under served women and youth in the community through educational career and personal development services that promote intergenerational connection, and lifelong pursuit of goals.
