How many members have you brought in vs. how many that remain in our orgs?
And what does it say if your org brings in more members than anyone and retains less than anyone?

The six of us came in together and are still active. The next line had four and all of them have returned and working. We will see what happens with the last line during the next fiscal year.

Eight of us came in together, and five of us are active and financial, one of us is financial but not really active (her job takes her out of the country for six weeks at a time) and one crossed, and was never really seen or heard from again after that. The other one who is inactive--I am working on her as we speak! ;D
I just got one of them to reactivate after a long absence.

Hard Facts people I am talking thousands All of our orgs have a certain amount of members, and retain less than certain percentages.
Do you think being #1 in Greekdom numbers wise should constitute how many you RETAIN not how many you brought in.

I know my chapter is focusing heavily on retention and reclamation, and isn't even bringing in any new lines any time soon.
But then it all comes back to the post I made: WHY are people inactive? A lot of people (including myself) are HUSTLING to make ends meet these days, working two and three jobs. It was a real struggle/sacrifice to reactivate.
Also: after a certain amount of time, if a member is inactive, should they be expelled? That's an idea I've heard tossed around.

We have a very large reclamation effort, and do all sorts of events to help sorors get back into the org. People left for various reasons, and now that we are a new chapter, out in the community full force, many are showing interest and would like to return.

There were 11 on my line, and I know that at least 4 of us are active. I'm not sure where 5 of my line brothers are.

This is why, we are getting our undergrads prepared for the transition into a grad chapter. Very ofen, undergrads are left to deal with the org and then once they graduate, they have no clue or clear understanding of being involved in the Alumni chapter.

I came in with 12 other girls. One of them renounced her vows. Another one left after her dues expired, and another left the state to take care of her sick dad. The rest (ten) of us have been financial with only maybe two going inactive for a year or so and then coming right back into the chapter. My chapter has focused heavily on retention and reclamation for the past two years.
