Some of the posters didn't return after the Big Meltdown of 'o7 (board crash.)
How was everybody's weekend? Mine was great...spent with the distinguished and debonaire brothers of Alpha South in Jacksonville, FL.

Cam,
There were two new district directors (MS and NC) and their asst. ADs appointed at this convention, and a new AVP for Alpha South was elected.
Florida won Miss Alpha South
Alpha Phi (Clark Atl) won the step comp....AGAIN!
South Carolina won BVL Oratorical Competition
South Carolina (chapter at Coll. of Charleston) won College Chapter of the Year
Beta Beta Lambda (Miami) won Alumni Chapter of the year.
I've got a list of the other winners. These were the ones I could remember off the top of my head. Of course the big discussion was intake that was all a-buzz during the weekend. We can talk more about that offline.
Alpha Midwest also convened this past weekend in St. Louis.

damn I wanna go to New Orleans this weekend.... but i won't be able to. I have to go to Houston next week for a conference and there is no way I can miss 2 weeks during quarter close at work....

Went to regionals in St. Louis....had a blast. Learned so much about my chapter and the brotherhood.
plus I learned atleast 5 new strolls.
I was strolling like a mad man.

Good stuff! Someone else who is Frat that I didn’t know is Stan Verrett from Espn. Last summer I was at Newark Airport in Newark, NJ and saw him waiting for a flight departure. I happened to have a frat hat on and just walked over to him to say what’s up…..just to acknowledge him as I watch a lot of Espn. Well after speaking, homie started challenging/charging me something SERIOUS. We go back and forth for a bit, and after we finally acknowledge and greet each other as bros, it came out that he was built at Beta chapter in the 80’s right here on the east coast. We rapped for a while and come to find out he knew and remembered some of my old head 80’s bros from road trips and line swaps. Cool bro for sure. |
