everyone please participate -- Right now the board is only visible if you are registered.
the question is do we want it OPEN. Which means do we want it to be visible to any and everyone?
this may attract more people and increase lurkers - but also boost the board morale just a bit.

I think alot of folks lurked on OO and Stophazing before deciding to join based on the nature of certain post or areas. Therefore, I would say open to certain areas only...i. Greek Thread since that seems to generate a lot of interest from potential members or folks wanting to ask general questions. The After Dark, should be off limits...

This board is password protected. Please enter the password below to login. after dark section should be sign in only ......the titles alone are xxx rated ......no good for children in case they stumble on to the board ....great idea Southie  .... |

I voted to open up certain parts, like someone else mentioned open the Greek Thread. I think new faces,new opinions and views would be good. Pro-Hazing is nupe and Anti-Hazing is coldfront, i wanna hear new arguments!!

To address the lurker thing:
If we opened the board up to any and everyone, they wouldnt have to register & it would be for example: 20 Members, 50 guests (who arent registered)
out of those 20 members, 5 may be invisible - so they arent included in the guest count.
So that is something to think about. If you have 50 guests, those people are NOT registered members, they are non-registered lurkers.
Of course the google bot is a guest, but that isnt a real person, its just a bot. So that is why u may see one or two guests at times. (also when u FIRST enter the board ur a guest - then the guest count goes down and ur included as a member)
but again - if we open the board all the way up - there will be a ton of guests/lurkers.

thats what i am concerned about -
I dont think so just because of the way the entire server is managed
But you never know, some folks just dont have a real life and get off on taking down stuff. So I cant say.

Maybe you can open up the board and allow the newer members to have access to the basic forums until they have earned 1,000-2,000 (that's a lot) posts, before they can see the Women's and Men's sections and OOA After Dark.

open it up....it's time...we need new blood.
I suggest an "OO section" for us OO'ers that go back to the ORIGINAL OO (I miss that raggedy looking site. lawd knows I do). That way if we need to pow-wow or whatever, we have our section. And make that section post count sensitive....or some shit like dat....*shrugs*
