I doubt it changes anything. He'll probably still get away with it.

I think I heard somewhere that they said they weren't going to reopen the case

Seemed like there was enough circumstantial evidence to prosecute him the first time and whatever power his fam had they used it to run interference and get their son out. If ever they were gonna get him, it was going to be then.

Being white is probably good enough but his father being a lawyer wouldn't hurt. Actually isn't one of his parents a diplomat?

A White spawn of a diplomat and a lawyer.
He can kill all the white chicks in the world, and no one would try his butt.

He'll probably run for office one day and describe the whole incident as a youthful indiscretion. Then he'll take a picture with a baby and people will go "oooh" and "ahhhh"

I was watching and fell asleep. Did he ever say how she died?
I know one thing, he was crazy for ever talking to anyone about it. He was saying on the tape that he really trusted that guy...mistake. He should have kept his mouth shut, there would have been speculation for the rest of his life, but no one would have ever been able to prove it.

I think they said some dude tossed her body out in the ocean. But no big deal, he gets to go on with his life, disaster averted, that's all that matters. Not the family, not the life of the young lady, just that he doesn't get punished for it.

didnt he say that he thinks she passed out from alcohol poisoning or something and that he tried to revive her?
and didnt her mom say that he probably panicked and natalie really wasnt dead and he just threw her in the ocean?

I don't know - I didn't hear the interview. If you've ever had someone pass out on you due to too much alcohol it can look likek they're dead (I speak unfortunately from experience here) but in any event - he should have called an ambulance. I can understand that he was scared but that's no excuse. Her life was in the balance.
This one will come back to haunt him. We all reap as we sow.

I heard the translated tape.
He was not in the least bit sorry for her death.
Van der Sloot said that Natalee was drunk when he met her at Carlos and Charlie's and he gave her a shot of Bacardi 151 (75% alcohol). That pretty much had her slammed. They then went to the beach to fcuk (his word) and she began convulsing and passed out he called his friend who dumped her body less than 2 kilometers from the beach.
In a statement, her mom said that she is glad to know what happened to her daughter.
The court did rule the tape admissible as evidence in court. Is he going to be tried, I don't know.

I was wondering if he actually did something to cause her death, like choke her or something. But it is true, she may not have been dead, and if he didn't do anything (other than supply her with more alcohol), then why did he panic? It still sounds fishy...

Well maybe she didn't actually want to have sex and he was getting her drunk so she could pass out. And then after she did, and he took advantage of her, he couldn't wake her up and thought she was dead. Then his buddy disposed of her body which may have been alive. Just a theory.

Yeah, there is more to it. If she died from alcohol poisoning only, there would be no need for him to be afraid, especially since he is well connected. He may have raped her. I hope he does go to jail behind that. He has shown no remorse.

well it will eat him up for the rest of his life.
He will be miserable though. Can u imagine how he feels? I bet he is wishing he was never alive. His social life is shot. Everywhere he goes, people are going to associate him with her death.
I think it will be like how not too far from here, Edgar Ray Killen, accused of masterminding the murder of three civil rights workers in 1964, went to the jury in Mississippi on Monday, June 20, 2005.
Its like they know he did it, but because he's "WHITE" they will wait til he is old and raggedy before they send him to jail. That seems to happen a lot in these parts. Either they get off or they wait till they are on their death bed.

Everywhere he goes, people are going to associate him with her death. He doesn't seem to be eaten up. He was bragging to the guy who was taping him. He has been partying and enjoying life and showing absolutely no remorse. He even said on the tape that he called his friend to dump her body and went home that night and went to sleep. He had no problems sleeping that night and has said that he does not have any remorse.

I'm sorry for the insensitivity, but why we still talking about this chick? They spent how much money searching for her and trying to prosecute this fool...
Can I see some justice for Nailah Franklin?
