So if you know anything about Atlanta Metro area you will know that is usually takes 30mins to get from the suburb to downtown Atl.
I work in Buckhead near downtown. The company that we buy office supplies from is in the Suburbs about 30 mins away (with no traffic).
My office manager placed a big order that was to be delivered yesterday by 5pm. Unfortunately the driver that doesn't know his way around got lost and made it to our office after 5pm. The only person that was here was the Junior partner and he told him to drop the supplies on the main floor.
I come into the office this morning and our office manager is highly upset that the office supplies are on the main floor and not on the second floor where they are usually delivered.
She calls the company this morning to complain and demand that they send someone out (during rush hour) to carry all the boxes upstairs.
When I started to carry some boxes upstairs I was stopped because that was the supply company's job.
I guess she made a big enough fuss because the Manager of the company is here carrying boxes of paper to the second floor.

Who is the office support person? They could load the boxes and then bring them up the freight elevator.

As long as it isn't a trend I don't see anything wrong with pitching in to get things where they need to go. (within reason) Everyone needs a hand sometime.

i understand, Queen. apparently i upset the order of things by offering to help people when they are swamped and i have nothing to do but twiddle my thumbs. they aren't use to someone have the common courtesy to extend a helping hand so that every one will be on schedule.

I hate to stereotype but these baby boomers panic every time something goes wrong with the office technology. Also now they have taken to asking me every little thing about their computer and the programs.
I wouldn't mind being tech support if they also paid me for it, but the next time your toolbar disappears or you don't know how to change print settings on the PDF document I'm just going to tell them I think you need to google it.

If this woman once again refuses to give me her timesheets by the deadline then I will not pay her. This has gone on far too long and I no longer care if my supervisor tells me to give her more time, I will go to the senior partner and see if he thinks that the policy he set up should bend for one person every time (no emergency needed).
The senior partner will probably be happy not to pay her because then the company saves money.
To me it is simple do what you need to do to get paid, if you don't you have just been volunteering for the last two weeks. I may remember to put it on the next pay check.

Yay for all the end of the year policy changes. This means that when the busy season starts, then people that know little about the new policies will teach the people that know nothing and somehow I have to keep this clusterf**k from exploding.

I came to work one day after my day off and my supervisor wanted me to warned me that when I was out a black guy came into the office and was looking around "aggressively". When confronted he asked if this was the office of a lawyer and was told no so he left.
Now my boss is sending out memos and warning people to keep the office doors locked and report and suspicious behavior to the police.
So yesterday when I was the last person here a co-worker kept asking me if it was ok that she left and would I feel safe.
I wanted to yell at her that "I'm not scared of black people" but I kept my mouth shut.
