Above is a link to an article about a 21 year old, black man who has ended up dead in police custody. They are alleging he shot himself with a hidden gun while his hands were double cuffed behind his back and in the back of a police car.
I am so tired of our men, young men, and boys having their lives taken. I find it even more disturbing that they are being robbed of the dignity that comes with being a victim. When these things happen, we hear how he had $10 worth of weed on him so somehow we should believe he manage to shoot himself in the head while handcuffed. In the Case of Trevon Martin the killer wants us to accept that had Trevon not been acting "suspiciously" he might still be alive today. How can anyone blame the victim?!
I wanted to pass this along in hopes of raising awareness. We are not beyond the era of racism. We have not made it just because we have a Black president. We need to be vigilant now more than ever. We must talk to the younger generations and uplift each other. We cannot afford to continue fighting each other. There are people who want to do away with us. That could have easily been my cousin, brother, ect.
