I arrived at the belief (back in 06) that there is no such thing as "the one that got away." I learned then, that if the timing is wrong, so is everything else. Again, we can "make the best of a bad situation" if we wish, but I firmly believe that if it didn't work out, then it wasn't supposed to.

tell us more about this lady, Rei-Rei. How'd she escape? She was kinda perfect for me. I played around and didn't take it seriously. (Mostly because I didn't feel I was ready, still in school and broke, to handle something serious) She moved on but nothing really serious. I always thought that I would get myself together and we would get together. Yeah well as I got it together.... She got... engaged (now married) |

More often, I hear the female side of a similar situation. Man won't act right (for a variety of reasons). Couple goes separate ways. Man eventually learns to act right, but a new woman reaps the benefits. I try and I try to help my female acquaintances to not see such thing as a lost opportunity. If it was right, it would've been right.

Some relationships aren't meant to go the distance, they are meant to TEACH you something, and the sooner you learn it the better off you'll be. At least, that's what I say on March 12, 2012. A year from now? Who knows.

There is no "one that got away." If it was meant to be, they would never have gotten away. Future happiness does not depend on exploring every single possibility with every single person. There is no "right person/wrong time" scenario. If the timing is wrong, so is the entire situation. If a person is "the one" (not sure whether I subscribe to this concept) I'm certain that it will be abundantly clear. No guessing.
