When I was about 8 or 10 years old I was told by one of the church mothers that I should have been named Thomas because I was full of doubt. Now, how she got that from a kid I don't know but to this day (she's still alive) she still says that and asks if i've found the strength to believe without seeing.
So, i'm going with Thomas...

they said I was John. I dig that too, kinda. I'm much more polite than he was though. Not at all harsh (in my speech).

I feel all the way judged by this tho - "Impulsive, bold, leader, a little extreme, anger issues, strong faith, soft heart- quick to repent. "

Can you tell me what is the difference between the two?

|
Post by LejaOMG on Aug 10, 2011 6:30:50 GMT -5
Sure! Jesus' apostles* were men who were very close friends of his during the 3.5 years of his ministry. They traveled with him, performed miracles on his behalf and preached his name. Disciple is a more general term that simply means "follower." Therefore, all apostles were disciples, but not all disciples are apostles.
*Note: Paul (formerly Saul of Tarsus), the most prolific bible-writer is oftentimes referred to as an apostle. Though he never met Jesus, the revelation he received on the road to Damascus where Jesus appeared to him and re-named him made him sort of honorary. Technically, he was a disciple, not an apostle. The bible contains no record of his having performed miracles, but he did cast out demons from time to time.

"Dishonest before Christ, abandoned all he knew for Jesus, attention to deetail, love for the lost, logical, accurate "
I don't know about all that...LOL!

Yea, that means you're that dude in the crew that makes people say, "I wonder where he fits in," and someone else replies, "Oh, that's (insert crew leader's name here) lil cousin."

I got Phillip. That was interesting since he told the Ethiopian Eunuch about Jesus and I am Ethiopian. I felt a certain sense of irony at that.

So then... yes you're saying it does count for something. Alright.Yeah, also any crew you're in...if there's ANOTHER James...you will be the lesser of the two or few. So, don't go chasing any crews with Jameses in them.
