I'm trying to find some constructive ways to deal with work. When I'm too overwhelmed I usually just "check out" and come back to situation later... That isn't always the best move.
Tell me some of the ways you cop with stress at the jobspot.

It sounds cliche, but I pray about it. Not for the stress to end (that's taking the easy way out), but for the strength and wisdom to overlook and overcome it. Afterwards, I'll close up in my office with some soothing sounds and a lavender/vanilla aromatherapy candle.

I usually get up from my desk and go outside. We have a store nearby so I will walk to the store and think about how I don't wanna go back and cuss these ratchet co-workers of mine out and lose my job today. When I come back I turn on my Pandora and tune everyone and everything out. That usually does the trick.

I just go the hell off! I feel like the problem will come back and get worse if I let it slide...and in my field, there is enough stressors in our everyday duties that we shouldn't be adding to it. SO....I go off when I get a chance. Then I spend my break in my car listening to the Maxwell and come back smiling!
