Hi I'm new! I posted in the intro thread though. My question is what would you choose if you had to be either paper or not in your organization of choice at all? And just to make it more fun there are no ifs, ands, or buts. Imagine that you cannot pledge in any way, even after you are already in your org. You would be the most paper member possible with almost no knowledge outside of the official website and no real brotherhood/sisterhood (up for debate but that's not really the question). And if you are not paper then you will NEVER be a member. Obviously these conditions aren't true but it is interesting to think about. And this is NOT a paper vs. pledge debate. Hope someone else didn't already post this because I couldn't find it and thought this would be fun

Not sure where to start as the paper-est of paper members of my org knows 1000% more (#noMaury) than what's on the website. Is your question whether I'd be paper or whether I'd be willing to know nothing more than what's publicly available on the website?

Lol at the Maury comment. My question was whether you would be willing to not know any info not publicly available and be a member in name only. Not saying that paper members don't know anything, just for this specific situation.

I would choose to not join. What would be the point? If there is no sisterhood, no knowledge of the internal workings, how could you even feel that you are truly a member of the organization? I honestly feel that I can work to uplift the community by my damn self. One of THE BIGGEST reasons to join an org to me is to experience that sisterly bond, to forge those friendships, to be apart of a rich tradition, to network, etc. etc. May be a little harsh but that's how I feel *shrugs*

10/20 years later you'll be talking about how you didn't want to be paper while everyone else is going to convention, cookouts, meetings, bbqs, and mixers in all their nice, new pari, LOL.

I'd go paper and work hard to gain leadership roles in my org. I would then use my power to seek out and expel those who pledged.

Not saying that paper members don't know anything, just for this specific situation. That's hard to answer for the simple fact, and I think I can speek for us that are already Greek, that even being just a paper member, the paperest of papet, you are still guaranteed to know/learn more than just what's publicaly available...
