Jan16 || MLK Day Commemorative Celebration & Public Meeting
Chicago, IL
Date: Sun, January 16, Time: 2:30pm – 4:30pm CST Location: First Presbyterian Church, 6400 S. Kimbark Ave Chicago, IL 60637 (3 blocks from 63rd St. Metra station)
On January 16th, 2011, at 2:30 pm - 4:30pm, we will be holding our annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration at First Presbyterian Church, to celebrate not only the living legacy of Dr King, but also to celebrate his work of justice through community organizing. Elected Officials from across the Chicago area will be there. Confirm Officials include State Reps. Will Burns, Marlow Colvin, and Will Davis; State Senator Kwame Raoul; Aldermen Willie Cochran and Michelle Harris; Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle; and City Clerk and mayoral candidate Miguel del Valle. We will be asking them to commit in front of hundreds of their constituents to make improvements in the community.
E-Sorors that are located in the Chicago Area asked to attend.
E-Soror Southie will be giving a speech at the event.
