Line Anniversary Celebrations

Is there anything you and your folks normally do? If you've never formally done anything, what would you like to see? Would you invite other members not on your line? How would you/do you handle inviting line siblings with whom you're not cool? Would you do Greek stuff (sing songs, practice steps, etc) or just general fun (laser-tag, wine-tasting, strip clubs)?

We were all extra for our first anniversary...ordering t-shirts & tote bags & whatnot. Last year, we (well they b/c I wasn't there) hit up Maggiano's family style.

ETA: Actually, the first anniversary was a multi-day celebration. During the informal portion of the program, we just hung out, had food, beverages, strolled & kicked it in my LSs house. At the more formal event, we had a program, & invited prophytes & whatnot. Oh...and we also had a DVD of our first year in the tote bag w/ the tshirts. (like I said...maaaaaaaad extra)

Only Anniversary my line celebrated was our 10 yr. We all attended Homecoming and celebrated during the festivities. We did have shirts made to commemorate the occasion.

Oh boy, we partied every year. FB is full of pictures from the various celebrations. Next year, I want to celebrate someplace else. Someplace warm.

1. Is there anything you and your folks normally do?

My LB’s & I all live within 3 hours of each other so we try to get up on most anniversaries (missed a few here and there). If everybody can, we get together that weekend and will get rooms at a hotel in the city of our alma matter and go from there.

2. Would you invite other members not on your line?

For sho – Beforehand, we’ll call our Dean (who always comes through), the young Bros on the yard, our older prophytes from our chapter still in the area, and whatever other Bros are around to let them know we coming through. They are definitely welcome to come celebrate with us. The more the better.

3. How would you/do you handle inviting line siblings with whom you're not cool?

N/A - All tight like we still shoulder to shoulder and chest to back like that.

4. Would you do Greek stuff (sing songs, practice steps, etc) or just general fun (laser-tag, wine-tasting, strip clubs)?

We hit up our plot, light the grill up and flow hard. Do whatever comes to mind - We catch up, reminisce, share, tell, and laugh at the same stories that NEVER get too old or stop being funny, harass the Neos in the chapter off GP to test their mettle, check out old pictures, take new pictures, bug out, chant, cut up, hit up restaurants, movies, whatever. No real set agenda L – just do what we do and have a great time together.

Next year, we are planning on going to Spain! Its not for our anniversary, it just another place to take our show on the road!! LOL

we dont use the term "line" but the girls that I entered the order with make SURE I cook every year on our anniversary. Big blown out meal, liquor...and memories!!! And no, we do not invite the rest of the chapter to the meal part but we do call all stars and squares together when we hit the streets!

Basically get together and do like Iceman said, re-live stories that never get old. Heck, get three of us together and let the reminscing begin!

usually my LS's and I go out to dinner and drinks at least.. once we threw in a spa day for our 5 year.. not sure what we will do for 10
