Not excited yet? Well you WILL be. Instead of cookies, encourage your kids to leave this lovely elixir for Santa! (don't forget to send them to bed and drink it yourself!) *all recipes are original and are downloaded directly from the brain of Leja Moreno* Skinny Mint1 shot Dark rum (I recommend Bacardi Black, Select or Anejo) .5 oz. Creme de Menthe .5 oz. Butterscotch Schnapps .5 oz. Chocolate Liqueur (give the Godiva brand a shot ) .5 oz. White rum (try Mount Gay Silver or Special) Mix (do NOT shake with ice) and pour over ice in a rocks glass. Float some white rum on the top and VOILA! Enjoy responsibly. (See below for more details and pics) What exactly is Creme de Menthe, you ask? It's a sweet mint-flavored liqueur that comes in green or clear. I prefer clear versions of all liqueurs if possible in case you want to do an unusual mix. If I get fancy and throw some pomegranate (burgundy) and peppermint (dark green) together, imagine what an un-pretty cocktail it could be. If you want the drink to be less sweet and more minty, feel free to substitute with peppermint schnapps which is stronger and more dry. Creme de Menthe:

Instead of traditional eggnog, try a blend of Guinness, milk, cinnamon, n white chocolate. Vodka is optional.

Instead of traditional eggnog, try a blend of Guinness, milk, cinnamon, n white chocolate. Vodka is optional. mmmm, Guinness punch! (forgot all about that). School me on the white chocolate part...do we make a syrup and add it to the mixture? How's it get in there? And the vodka's a new one on me too. How do you like it with the vodka as opposed to white rum? Any particular brand you recommend? oh, and remember to use condensed milk

My sister's original recipe called for the white chocolate as a garnish, I experimented with some white chocolate syrup we had and it added a nice lite contrasting flavor. Oh and a lil bit of grounded ginger is good in it too.
The vodka was used a result of running out of Wray & Nephew, but it still was good with the vodka. As far as brand goes, I personally like Papagayo Organic White Rum or Zaya 12 year (Dark Rum). Pretty smooth to me...i use them in my Ponche-de-Creme/Punch de Cream too.

Rum Spiced Cider
2 qts. apple cider 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar 2 pieces (2 inches each) cinnamon stick 12 whole cloves 12 allspice berries 2 cups dark rum 1/2 stick (4 tbsps.) unsalted butter, sliced into 8 pats (optional) 8 long cinnamon sticks, for garnish
Mix the cider, brown sugar, short cinnamon sticks, cloves, and all-spice in a big enough pan. Set over medium-low heat, partially cover, and slowly bring to a boil, stirring occasionally and skimming any scum that forms on the surface.
Put the rum in among 8 large mugs. Drop a pat of butter and a cinnamon stick into each mug if you want, and then serve.
lawwdddddddd this is so good

Don't think I don't see you with the papagayo too... I'll be up your way in 8 days. That gives you plenty of time to make some ponche crema before I get there.

Somebody's gonna have to make me one of those. No way, I'm willingly dropping butter into my own warm cocktails, lol. I couldn't look my trainer in the face after that. But OMG does it sound delightful!

Looking for something that is rather tart, no whiskey, no cognac, no brandy, a mix drink of sorts.

Now that sounds nice. Let me copy and send that to my crew. We are having a grab bag with some of the neos, so I think this is a good drink to have. What's a good KettleOne Drink? Tired of the OJ and/or Grapefruit juice. Another crew member likes Tequilla?? Getting some ideas so that we can have the neos to bring the ingrediants.

vodka in the wintertime? hmmm....think about Coach's Guiness Punch recipe above. Consider also vodka in chilled apple cider.
Tequila?! Oh you came to the right place. Tell the crew to grab a bottle of merlot, a bottle of tequila, your favorite fruit juice and make a Tequila Sangria!! The recipe:
* 750 mL of red wine * 16 oz. fruit juice (try something with some sweetness, not cranberry or pomegranate) * 2 shots of 100% agave tequila * 2 shots of lime juice

I've never made this on a small scale, so you'll have to adjust the proportions. And I don't really have a name for it, we usually just call it "The Punch". Anyway, You'll need:
2 bottles applejack (apple brandy) or Calvados 1 pint lemon juice 2 litres of Sprite, or any lemon-lime soda 2 cups light rum 2 cups peach brandy 1/2 cup maple syrup or sugar syrup 1 cup brandy 1 apple, sliced Crushed ice
Mix the applejack, rum, peach brandy, brandy, lemon juice and maple syrup together. Adjust the sweetness to your taste, then add crushed ice and sliced apples. I personally tend to mix everything in a lil storage tote (don't judge me). You can be more fancy and go with the punch bowl or something.

this...sounds...ridiculous (and don't think I don't see you with the Calvados. This the third time you mentioned one of my lesser-known faves. Clear your schedule for Saturday afternoon, yo.)
