Q: Ever dreamed about an OOA? If so who? A: Gosh, I've been waiting to answer this question. I DID dream of an OOAer. I've never seen him before. Never heard his voice. But, I knew it was him. My best friend and his best friend were married and we both came visiting from out of town. We didn't hit it off at first (i thought he was a self righteous pompous asshole. he though i was a stuck up, saddity hussy), but as the night progessed, we kinda warmed up to each other. Anywho, by the end of the dream, we're back at their place, they've retired, he's gone to his "room" so i went to take a shower. It was one of those glass showers where the only thing that hides you is the steam. So, i'm showering, all lathered up n' shit when the door opens. It's him. He steps in and extends his hand. I wake up. DAGNABIT!!!! JUST 5 more minutes. PLEASE! 5 MORE MINUTES!!!!! there was another one i'd posted about, but I couldn't find it. And uh, nah buddy, no names. lol |

There was a time (with Baby) that I had the camcorder in the spare room wired to the television in his bedroom. It was more of a live show because I didn't record anything.

Q: How did you approach the members of Alpha Phi Alpha for membership?
A: They had a table set up in the plaza at school. I went over and signed up to play in a charity basketball tournament and ended up talking with one of the Brothers. From that point i just kept my eyes open for interest seminars.
Since I didn't end up applying during undergrad, i pursued the alumni chapter by looking up the chapter on the Nat'l website, and just sent an honest, humble email.
Q: What would you recommend for people still pursuing?
A: Educate yourself as much as possible (from the national site, and not wikipedia), but don't be a know-it-all. At least make sure you know basic history and the purpose of the organization. Understand that acceptance is a privilege and not a right.
Q: Would you ever rock an Alpha Snuggie?
A: Only if I get to step in it.
Q: If you would, would it have your line name on the back and the chapter on the sleeve?
A: I would have all sorts of history on it, with all of that room. General Presidents, meeting places, the first banquet menu items, motto, etc.

Q: How did you select your profession? Did you just fall into it, or did you always know you were tryna do what you do?
A: I actually did just fall into it. My first job out of college I was an admin assistant. My organization got a grant to put on trainings and then a conference. Between that and the role I played at the organizations bigger event I realized that this is what I wanted to do. So I left and took a job with a title that would put me on the right path.
No, this is actually not what I was interested in. I really wanted to be in Human Resources but had a really tough time getting a job when I finished school. I worked all through UG but that was to pay the bills so I didn't have any interns that gave me the experience I needed. But it all worked out. I really like what I do now.

A: I don't think anyone...whether they know me or not...would describe me as flirtatious. Not even a little bit! Shy...that's probably open to interpretation...it just depends on the day & the situation. People who truly know probably wouldn't describe me as shy...but if folks who don't really know me catch me on the right day, they might see me that way.
