again we are going down the dark alley ... I dont believed he meant any of those things... but could you imagine you are a pastor, you love God and you want a woman who loves God but: Everytime you strike a convo its about a bible scripture... Ok lets speak about the Word but I would also like to know what you in your spare time.... 2. The women who are viable candidates want to be brides of Christ... and only Christ ^^ This is basically what he is saying... He has the preacher is still a MAN... and it seems like the "viable" candidates can't get pass the fact that he is a pastor. He is a man of God yes but still a man... basically he telling the women to loosen up but I found it funny how everyone jump to the stripper conclusion.. But that's just it Reign... why do they need to loosen up? He is STILL a pastor. He wasn't going to be picking any woman that:
1. Fornicated (shout out to everyone else that forcinates) 2. Cursed 3. Clubbed
So why would they need to do that in order to become viable? His position only makes sense if they are living a sanctified life and don't want to be married at ALL... the attributes that should have attracted him as a man of God to these women, shouldn't be things that they should have to re-arrange after they got married... at least IMO

Hm, I've never heard the phrase before. Does it have anything to do with a person so looking forward to his heavenly reward that he doesn't put any effort into living a good life here on earth? No moreso they don't relate to "earthly" things. I've typically heard it used to describe women who don't forcinate, curse, club, drink, etc. The thread popped in my head because I heard a single pastor say that he can't find a woman because of this. It's not all about drugs and whores Reign...it's about cussing in clubs as well. ;D ;D ;D ;D

*ignores everyone else and continues to conversate with Damie and Reign*
So do you think this notion is possible over all?
Is it a negative thing to come across women who want to be married to Christ?

Is it a negative thing to come across women who want to be married to Christ? It's possible that some women are focused only on serving God... it's HIGHLY unlikely (IMO) that that's the reason that he can't find a woman.

ok, I've heard this phrase before and I take it to mean that the person is so caught up in "religion" they can't take the time to enjoy the wonderful things here on earth. A good example would be the demonation that says you shouldn't go to the movies or I remember one pastor of a particular demoination telling a guy he shouldn't play in sports. Reasons for both being that they are ungodly. Off the wall stuff like that. If they had their way no one would ever leave their house except to go to church, school, and work. SMH.

Is this possible?[/quote It's like not being able to see the forest for the trees. Some people are so holy that they think they are above everyone else walking around on this earth. Consequently, they are no earthly good because they aren't spreading the gospel to other people. Faith without works is dead. They claim to have faith, but they do no works.

ahhh, ok. In that case, I know some brothers like that. Not that they aren't spreading the gospel--because that is NOT allowed where I come from, lol--but all they ever do is...spread the gospel. Such people seem somewhat socially stunted. They're almost afraid of women. They don't go out. Don't have fun. Seemingly, they spend all day in the ministry (not really connecting with people, because they have no real life experience so they can't relate with those whom they meet) and spend all night reading the bible. Eventually, they do get married though, and go on to make some young woman very unhappy.

I've seen this happen SO MANY TIMES!!! And granny had the nerve to try to "hook me up" with one. Um... no ma'am!!! Reason I gave her? "Um, Granny, I'm sure he's a wonderful guy, (stifles gag) but being that he is one of you and I'm not, that relationship would most likely be doomed from the start. I wouldn't want to be the cause of him getting in any trouble with the Elders. Thanks, though. ahhh, ok. In that case, I know some brothers like that. If the assumption is that the person is too spiritual or rigid, what earthly purpose do priests and nuns serve I mean, those are just examples Pep. Leja basically broke it down, the one Chal quoted. They are unable to relate to anyone or anything.

If the assumption is that the person is too spiritual or rigid, what earthly purpose do priests and nuns serve That is a completely different religious demoniation. Only Catholics have the nuns and the priests, and I don't quite understand their purposes. Especially the Pope. So, that would be something that a Catholic would have to be asked.

He should not be a Pastor. Because he's single or because he's having difficulty finding a wife?
