Who saw it? What do you think?
I saw it at 12:01am Thursday morning with 3 of my homegirls. This particular movie theater by my house had THREE (3) sections reserved for this movie, LOL.
I enjoyed myself, but I think the 1st one was a better movie. And the producers may have gone a bit too far with the cultural/religious implications of being in the UAE...not a good look.
<----trying to get to Dubai BTW ;D
Some of the fashion was great, while some of the outfits made me want vomit and throw my shoes at the screen.
The gay wedding was over the top and HILARIOUS...
Let's hear it ladies (and gents). I wanna know what you all thought.

I loved it. It was extra in so many ways and I like it. I can appreciate the angle they took with the culture over there. They showed the ignorance of some folks, curiosity and what is actually true.
I like that they focus on relationships (SO and friendships) and they deal with things that actually go on. Take away the glamour and they are just like anyone else.
And the shoes were SERIOUS and they made sure to show every pair, LOL.

******MILD SPOILER BELOW*********
I didn't like it. Not so much in a disappointed way but...more so in an almost indifferent way.
I thought the storyline was sloppily written. There were one too many loops, cliffhangers(for a lack of a better word) and underdeveloped themes--for my liking. Also many of the jokes were kinda on the corny side. They just didn't fit. Considering the height of this franchise, they could have done MUCCCHHHH better, imo.
However, it was good to see the "girls" all back together again. Also, I liked that it appealed to more of a family driven audience. The Carrie storyline really hit home in the circumstances of making the transition from single womanhood to married womanhood. A-plus for that theme.
Also the Liza dance performance was HILARIOUS!
O------fan O------would STILL go see another if they continued with this storyline.

I liked it... it's about what I expected. I don't think it was as good as the first one or as funny, but I liked having the girls back together again. There were things that made me giggle, but honestly none of the movies make me laugh the way the series did. I wonder if all the same writers are on board. For me it started off slow but with potential but kinda fizzled somewhere towards the end... I guess we're all getting older so maybe change was inevitable. I got what I was looking for for. It's a good get out with the girls, dinner and drinks type of event. Fashion, sillyness and at least on cute guy. :-) I would see another one for the same reason.

My mom same the same thing about the story line as Outtie. That wedding was the funniest part of the movie to me. I like the 1st one better also. But I'd see another one as well. There were moments I felt like the Samantha character was just being too much.

:::::UN-POPULAR OPINION:::::
Now let me preface- I loved the show Sex and the City. It really depicted women of a certain age following their respective paths in life. It showed the real deal living in the city if NY and the dynamics involved.
With that said, I thought the 1st SATC movie was better then the 2nd. The 2nd movie dragged on and on for me... Sapphy I agree, the movie lost its fizzle and I really only went to see it to see the fashion and get some great ideas for summer outfits. Carrie really got on my last nerves with her whinning- and while I love Samantha for being straight forward, they seemed to have over-sexualized her character to where she was OD'ing. I mean damn?!

ROTFL @ Sahara! It did seem like she was ODing! And I just KNEW Carrie was about to be divorced by the end of the movie.

I swear Julie Art Samantha was the WORST. I mean I'm friends with some whores and they don't act all extra like that in public. But I assume it's for the drama.
123Diva did you see the movie? What did you think?

The second one was funnier and had more cheeky humor. The first one seemed more serious, with all of the ladies going through some challenges...with the exception on Charlotte. As for another one, they could stop, its really starting to play out. Unless they plan on doing a "Golden Girl" reunion...the ladies are getting up there in age.
