As far as the bannana, I mean, that is the sign of the times. He could be wearing much worse around his neck. Yeah, and for me, that's exactly the problem.  I've made it no secret that I don't care for the whole "ape" mess, and if some of these knew where in the initiation process it originated from, they'd know you can't be an ape and an Alpha at the same time.
