Can anyone share their favorite brand/type of curly weave? I love a big wavy or curly look, but I haven't had great luck with the (sometimes very expensive) brands I've tried in the past. Little help?

I need to trim my 'fro (which is now mid-back/bra strap length stretched). I have a bunch of split ends and single strand knots.
I am thinking about taking of a 1/2 inch all around, and then tackling another 1/2 inch in a couple more months.
Any suggestions on a moisturizer other than conditioner and water. I need to step up my game!

By the way, this guy I'm seeing locally...I've seen him about 5x/wk for the past 3 months and he has never seen my real hair. I had tree braids when we met and then when he was out of town, I took them out and had another set installed. I've never had extensions back-to-back like that so I def need to let my hair breathe sometime soon. I'm kinda nervous about letting him see it. Not because my real hair isn't beautiful, but because I wonder what will happen when he realizes that my hair had been fake all along. Will it be a let-down? Will it cause him to wonder what else about me isn't real?
^^this probably should've gone in my musings thread. Sorry.

To answer your previous post, I tend to stick with the Indian Remi collection. However, Model Model has some good selections. I get those when I don't want to go from store to store when my main store is out of my brand/color/length.

just did my big chop last week and IMMEJIATELY had a sew-in installed. i transitioned for 9 months. my fro is wayyyy shorter than i would've liked, but i was just tried of fighting with my hair every day.
i hear kinky curly products are good. i'm using some of taaliah waajid's (sp) products, and they're straight. i use the leave in conditioner/detangler before i do anything to it...i also got some eco-style gel (the original one, not the olive oil or the argan oil one...clear jar) and its the best thing i've invested in since going natural. then of course coconout oil and shea butter.
im really "basic" when it comes to all this stuff. not tryna do nothing fancy with 90238 different expensive a$$ products, nor am i an ingredient nazi...

I'm not a PJ, I don't think. But I am a little bit of a label nazi. Petrolatum? Paraben? Mineral Oil? Sulfate this or that? No, thank you. -_-
I like Taliah Waajid's bodifying mist gel spray (or whatever it's called). Haven't tried anything else of hers yet.
I just co-wash with V05, Suave or whatever's available. If I really need it, I use Trader Joe's shampoo. Air dry and twist-set with whatever I have on-hand (oyin whipped pudding, taliah waajid spray, cantu leave-in...anything like that) and go to bed. I cannot get into all the craziness I read on the hair boards.

My glycerin-water-conditioner mix is the business. Gets the job done! This might be trim week. It needs to happen. OFF with the SPLIT ENDS!

My glycerin-water-conditioner mix is the business. Gets the job done! What do you do with it/use it for? It is just a conditioning spray. I spray it on at night time before I retwist, rebraid, or tie up the bush. It keeps my hair soft and nice. Very little glycerin is more than enough. Any more than this and your hair will feel sticky afterwards. I HATE any kind of stickiness or greasiness.

At this time I want to ask you to Please pray for Mrs. Work. It's been almost 3 months now, but the stuggle still continues. I know to her each morning as she awaken, her day may appear to be a long difficult task. So I tell her that as each day goes by, she's a day closer to freedom and I tell her to keep going. Yes, there are some intimidating days, days that she'd rather not face but a lot of those days are beautiful. She has since learned to live everyday as a NEW day and to embrace her Natural hair. YES, ladies Mrs. Work is now Rocking a Natural and have been for almost 3 months! Please pray for her, ask God to give her favor and Bless her with the strength to keep ROCKING ON!

NOW she talking bout she bout to go get some braids.
No hayle she ain't either... I done been through too much, up many nights (Mainly me, hiding box perms as she slept). Don't judge me. But still one of those wigs scared the shit out of me one night, you can't tell what them thangs is. Especially when one done fell in the bath tub, and it's 3 O'clock in the morning. And we ain't got know cats or dogs or nothing so yall already know what I'm thinking....Something done came in my damn house. What? I ain't know what it was.
Anyway.... Ladies. It's hard trying to deal with ya'll and ya'll hair. Very Passionate. Got her looking at videos, trying different products, encouraging her, we going to the store matching earrings to her face and twa. Making sure her eyebrows are on point....OMG what do I sound like right now? Ya'll Mrs Work is Already beautiful so she don't need ANY make up on what so ever but, I understand this is new to her and she's hesitate. So to embrace her new look we doing the brows, we using color, earrings, necklaces.....I've worked SO HARD!
I'll be back for an update.

There's nothing wrong with her getting braids every once in a while. If taken care of properly, they can assist with growth. Just tell her Chal said don't use them as a crutch.

***UPDATE***
It's been what, over a month since my last post about Mrs. Work? She didn't get braids ya'll. Hey you know I think she is really learning to love her look! She watches more youtube tutorials than the kids watch Disney. She's learning a lot and I think her biggest fear at the beginning was not being able to do much about hairstyles. I told her every woman has went through it and felt just like she felt after their BC. Now THAT I learned right here from the ladies of OOA. (Thank ya'll for talking me out of pouring water on her perm a while back) (((hugs))) ALL.
Ladies of OOA stay Lovely and beautiful!!!

I get my hair blowed dried during the summer, when its only about 80 degrees. Most of the time during the very hot humid days, its pulled up.
