Lack of Insight. It's one of the main attacks/defenses used in any debate/argument. And contrary to popular refrain, it is not used exclusively among Greeks. In fact, I have seen in used more times outside of the Greek context on this board than not. That notwithstanding - the charge isn't always false. Sometimes you really DO have to have insight for your position to hold weight. As an example see the video below. The Greeks among us, I'm sure, will get a laugh at the assertions - but it should be clear that this dude THINKS he knows what he's talking about.

Lawd...a graduate of the "Denounced Summer School of Thought," ...likely the valedictorian! LMAO!! Another religious extremist who sees EVERYTHING as a sin, and then takes his misinterpretations public. We've been warned to be weary of "folks" like these.

There would be no need to even engage this guy in a debate. How do you debate someone else's phantasm? The answer: You don't because you can't.

He looks like a damn fool!! BStrugg to give you some context for how far off base this dude is. It would be like him saying... BStrugg... it starts with B... so does Briareus so that is the Greek God you are honoring with your name. Notice also that Briareus has an "s" and an "r"... just like BStrugg - you are associated with and honor this false god.

Damie, I need to correct you. The phrase is actually "you're not in a BLACK Greek org, so you wouldn't understand." I, the person not in a BGLO, have been told this many times on here so I would know :-P

And though it has happened frequently enough on here with BGLOs (as could be expected) Question: Have you not been given occasion to use this attack/defense on someone trying to comment on your org? Tell the truth niccuh - I know people that know people... LOL. Have you never had to shut down a conversation with someone because they just didn't know what they were talking about when it came to your org? (Serious question)
I'm betting we all have. *Waits*

I'm betting we all have. *Waits*LOL, of course but it's when they are saying something that is actually wrong or not totally true because they don't have that particular experience. I won't say it simply because I don't like what they are saying or makes me/us look bad. If what they're saying is true then it's true...it doesn't become less true because they aren't in my org.

Fair enough. I absolutely follow what you're saying, but if what they're saying is false - it's false. And if you make a statement (like the dude in the video) it is clear it's because he's not a part of these organizations. But if you're that person on the outside looking in - you're seeing it completely different. It looks like a knee-jerk defense mechanism everytime... even when it's appropriate.
The dude in this video is literally grasping at air. But if it came to a debate I'm betting he might think (as Jay-O may have thought) we're making up this up as we go along - rather than - "naw seriously dude you've been given wrong information - your analysis is flawed" Feel me?

ITA. I don't think you have to be apart of any greek organization to see that was he's saying if foolishness. I've seen people try and link Beyonce to demons or satan because of some outfit she wore, lol.
When folks are so convinced of something they'll find it in everything and when they don't find it they'll figure out a way to mold what is there into what they want or just ignore it all together.
And now I'm reading the comments on his page (since they are disable for the video)...SMH. People have got to start thinking for themselves.

I wonder the KOOKS who support this say that they will love their mates "Above all others" when they wed....lol. I wonder if they run around condemning those who truly do worship false gods - wealth, success, houses, relationships.
On eof my favorite sayings, 'People who don't go to church often don't go because of people who do". Pure foolishness.

Dude is a prime example of people having their minds made up about something without knowing ANY facts. A while back a dude (Michael Tweeden) got clowned for claiming that Obama wrote something in his thesis that he didn't actually write.
www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/10/23/fake-obama-thesis-story-g_n_332255.html
He later on apologized but commentators on his blog let him have it without mercyYou believed it because you are gullible wanted desperately for it to be true.
Your dislike of Obama has clouded your judgment. It’s “plausible” only if you are conditioned by wallowing in your own and others’ BS so frequently that you’ve lost the ability to smell it anymore....it worked because you’re an intellectually dishonest git with a will to believe anything consistent with your prejudices, regardless of their grounding in fact.My personal favoritethe difference between being a journalist, academic or think tank slut like Ledeen and just some dumb antagonist like his readers, is that there is this idea that you can’t just be trolling around the internet picking up anything no questions asked. It behooves anyone who wants to be taken seriously to get their facts straight from the get go. “It worked because it’s plausible.” Yeah, if you’re a fever stricken, whackjob crazy wingnut, it’s plausible. If you’re a normal American, it isn’t.pajamasmedia.com/michaelledeen/2009/10/23/the-obama-thesis-hoax/What they are all alluding to applies to what this guy is doing. The conclusions precede the facts that support them, and ignore the ones that don't.

Yeah, I saw this video a while back and well...I LMAO and at the same time, became irritated! It really erks my nerve to hear non-members and GDIs alike speak about my organization, not knowing what the h _ _ _ they're talking about. I've learned to pick my battles wisely and just try to ignore the nonsense and I must admit that it gets hard at times.
