I wanted to go down to the strip, but there's not that much fun in it anymore. damn this getting old ish! Also, I no longer drink...and I can't get beads ...so...
I will probably be on OOA from 12a-12p. LOL
Once again folks I am give up OO for Lent. The question is will I be successful.
So that means I have to indulge and then fast full force Wed. Speaking of which, does anyone get ashes?

What is the purpose of celebrating Mardi Gras? Seriously, I don't know much about it. To me Mardi Gras is a time to see if you can get loose women with low self esteem to do something strange for beads...lol.

Why can't she just be fun loving, drunk, or in the spirit of Mardi Gras?

It's a celebration before LENT which is the fasting season before EASTER.
They call it fat tuesday, because most people were giving up some sort of food/meat for the season. Therefore they would eat loads of food.
I don't drink so I just like to go out on the strip. It doesn't take much to get beeds around here. The most you;ll have to do is show your boobs...least---just ask. Which is what I do the most. Yeah you have to flirt a little bit--but guys tend to just like women. LOL You ask and most times they will oblige.

So basically, Mardi Gras is religious in nature??

Beads significance: I honestly do not know. I t hink it's something that came along with the traditional celebration. I doubt it has a historical meaning, but I could be wrong. Religious in nature: Absolutely. Like many religious customs--the secular has long overshadowed the culture. However most sects of Orthodox Christianity still honor "mardi gras" a prep time before the awaited fast. Mardi Gras is also associated with Carnival. Here's the wiki link on mardi Gras (which is not as extensive as it could be, IMO): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mardi_Grasand Lent: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lent
