I was in an employee training class at work today. The instructor came up with an ice breaker game for us to get to know each other. We had to put one fact about ourselves on a piece of paper, and our classmates would try to guess who for each fact. My fact was that I'm a member of a fraternity.
So the instructor compiles a spreadsheet of all of the facts and uses an overhead so the entire class can see it. When he got to the "I'm in a fraternity" fact, many people guessed a dude named Corey. The instructor asked Corey if he was in a fraternity and Corey answered, "Yeah I am, but that wasn't the fact that I used." The instructor (a Kappa) asked Corey what frat he was in. Corey paused for a minute and said "I'm an Alpha."
So the class next guessed that I was probably the guy in the fraternity, and I said they were correct, and I'm also an Alpha. Corey looked like he was about to shit his pants after I said I was an Alpha. The instructor asked did we know we were frat brothers and we both said no. I could tell from his mannerisms that something was wrong and he was nervous. After the class, being the good brother that I am, I went to greet him. I said "Whats up, frat?" He did the smart thing and immediately admitted that he wasn't an Alpha, but he always wanted to be one and people always think he is one. I asked him did he not think about the possibility there would be a REAL Alpha in the class and he said that he didn't. Hilarious!

You should have suggested the next ice breaker be "two truths and a lie"

Dude will NEVER be able to live this down. Oh the horror. LOL. He was trying to perp privately to a few, got put on front street and faced a difficult decision. Do I get busted in my lie to a few people or do I roll the dice. He rolled them and they came up snake eyes, now he gets busted in a public lie to EVERYONE. I'd be surprised if dude hasn't already put in for a transfer to another division. LOL.
<--x still laughing
Someone has to re-enact this joint one day. LOL.

What a mess. This dude's an idiot. I never understand how or why people think they'll get away with this. Yep. Message to perps or aspiring perps: DON'T.DO.IT. You will be caught. Even if you cop the ritual, learn the grip, know the challenges, or read the history books cover to cover YOU.WILL.STILL.GET.CAUGHT.

Even if you cop the ritual, learn the grip, know the challenges, or read the history books cover to cover YOU.WILL.STILL.GET.CAUGHT. Say THAT again, Adisa!! LOL @ "aspiring" perps!! You know your "perpin" has gone too far when you have a 57 year old brother lookin' for you to beat your ass....as was the case here in Huntsvegas not too long ago!! One that's been pepin' for about 3.5 years decided to be real bold and leave the tag and tag frame on his car (which he put on there just for his trip over to the Greek picnic in ATL in June.) After word got out that someone other than me was gonna crack his skull open, suddenly those two artifacts were removed from his vehicle!!

That's hilarious Cold. I'm sure the look on dude's face was priceless! I bet that cat will never be able to look you in the eye again - there will forever be an awkward tension when he sees you now. SMH
I have no idea how these cats figure they can get away with perpin' like they do. Everyone gets caught. No matter what you perp, you will eventually get exposed. Even "Dr." Roxanne Shante just got caught perpin..lol

We're in class together for the rest of the week. If someone asks me directly about my "frat brother," I'll politely tell them that he isn't my frat. Otherwise, I just let it go. I really resisted the temptation to be an asshole yesterday...the things that were running through my mind were pretty funny. I started to just play along, pretend that I recognized him, then tell him to grip me...LOL.

Another message for perps and aspiring perps: Don't even think about trying to perp ABC to member XYZ. The BGLO world ain't that big. If you tell me you're an SGRho from Europe I still have the means to find out if you're telling the truth. DON'T.DO.IT.

If you tell me you're an SGRho from Europe I still have the means to find out if you're telling the truth. DON'T.DO.IT. The other obvious reason is that, we all have Greek friends across the Pan Hell. So if you tell me you are XYZ, the first thing I'ma do is introduce you to my friends that are also in XYZ. And if you don't want to meet what is supposed to be your sorority sister/frat brother...
...the red flag goes up.
