I read a little bit on the "outburst" and this I got to call bullshyt on:
"This evening, I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the president's remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the health care bill," he wrote in an e-mail to reporters. "While I disagree with the president's statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the President for this lack of civility."
Especially if he has I track record on these types of things and some with President Obama. Dude went into the meeting mad. I say he should be dealt with.

Wilson is truly looking like an a$$ today. He's the proxy for all the folk who showed up at the town hall meetings and cut the fool over misinformation. His boys are SCRAMBLING today to find some way to spin this and there isn't any good way.
Pres Obama did the damn thing last night. I know he loves his prompter but I wish he would have looked into the camera a little more. I thought his message was clear and specific, what the people wanted. He showed a little fire, which is what I wanted. As the insurance industry has more lobbyists than congressmen in DC right now, this should get interesting.

If the President is lying that's one thing, dudes outburst is another. A certain Mayor comes to mind when I think of the hypocrisy of this whole thing. Wilson was wrong, and that Mayor was wrong. Dude should have asked for a private audience with Obama, and called him a liar in private to his face if he has the facts to prove it.

Denounced you are truly clueless man. No matter what you find a way to cover or explain away bad behavior by the repubs. The bill explicitly says they are not covering illegal aliens. How much clearer can it be. Unless this guy is clairvoyant how could he know whether or not they will actually get coverage until it happens. Now if the President says they wont and they end up being covered then say something, until then keep you piehole shut and come with some meaningful dialogue. Stop being a modern-day Pharisee. Yeah I said it.

The apology this man offered was not sincere as it was requested of him by his political leaders. Furthermore, Mr. Wilson (I think) speaks for his constituents. I do not believe he hurt him self ANY by calling the President a liar. He is praised. I heard that $$$ was raised in this man's honor...(smh) Our President has been disrespected in SO many ways and I have not heard anyone step up to bat for him....Democrats included!

Obama has to stop playing nice guy with the Right. They're so out of touch, so irreletive to which way the direction of the country is moving in.
There really is no such thing as bi-partisan politics with a black man in office. It simply doesn't exist. The example of Wilson barking out in the fashion that he did shows complete disregard for the institution of the Presidency and just plain cultural and racial ignorance COUPLED with institutional disregard for Obama as a President.
White people, not generally, but specifically, have officially shown their colors.
No matter how bad Bush's foreign and domestic policies were, or Reagan's trickle-down (or up) economics or Bush 41's involvment in the 80's contra-scandels and illegal cointel-pros....It never will be as bad and regretful as America, overwhelmingly and passionately, voting a black man into office.
White folks, not generall, but specifically, have lost their collective minds and selling their souls to do anything to tarnish the greatest institutiuon in the Western Hemisphere.
Racism...plain and simple.

Although I wished President Obama should of stopped his address, went up there to Wilson and said "Say it to my face, you bad, SAY IT TO MY FACE!!!" he does have a plan.
Yes he accepted Wilson's apology but not really. On the surface yea, (Politically) but behind closed doors.....hell nawww. President Obama is giving Wilson enough rope to hang himself. He is letting US or at least the people in SC decide his political future. Don't think President Obama don't know about this man's record and character. There is money being raised to get this man OUT. The GOP may be dumb but they are NOT stupid. I don't think they will let only one hot head make all of them look bad. Especially if they have to end up apologizing for him. Wilson has to Apologize to a lot of people starting with the President on to the SOTH and Sen. McCain and the people of SC. He has done a lot of damage. Probably too much to clean up and hold his seat.
I am predicting Wilson is gone.

Yeah I said it. I excused no one's behavior. And please do not try that argument you heard on TV about we won't know what it will be until we actually get it foolishness. Terrible, faulty logic. When Joe Wilson called him a liar, my first response is he must know something we do not, and he did As for Obama, he is lying. He took responsibility for the bill saying what's in it, and what is not. Covering illegals IS in the bill. I will not respond to your fruitless name-calling. If it had merit, I would respond to it. "There are also those who claim that our reform effort would insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false – the reforms I’m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally. It's not true. And one more misunderstanding I want to clear up – under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions, and federal conscience laws will remain in place." www.kaiserhealthnews.org/Stories/2009/September/09/transcript-Obama-speech.aspxHe is speaking in the present tense. Notice something key, "under our plan", the PLAN, PLAN..... The plan DOES allow for illegal immigrants to be covered. So until the PLAN CHANGES, and it is put in the bill, he is lying. So although Joe was right, he went about telling Obama in the wrong way. Read the bill, then you can dialogue meaningfully.

See the first line of my post. Its not my logic that is flawed. You may talk circles around others but I'm not buying it. He laid out HIS plan goin forward. What more do you want. Their are actually 4 or more versions of the bill none of which have been signed into law. It's a work in progress and your precious republican bretheren would rather present lies as fact and spread fear rather than be part of a solution. All that being said as stated there is no provision to cover illegals in any bill. I find it laughable that you ASSumed he knew something we didn't. That's as bad as ASSuming you know for a fact what will happen in the future with this bill. Funny you will give this clown the benefit of the doubt based on nothing at all but El Presidente' gets none.I know why that is though...you are hung up on the abortion issue which seems to drive all your other political leanings. Smh. Get a clue man. As for name calling? Did calling you a modern-day Pharisee hurt? My bad but the shoe fits I have nothing to do with your "foot size."

No, Obama does not get the benefit of the doubt. There is no assumption of the future, just stating the facts as they are, and I am assured that based on what he stated the other night, Joe Wilson is right.
Please state the page, section/subsection that states they have no provision? Can you do that?

And just to be clear I'm not poor abortion. I just find it funny that people will point out the "lies" of this president but were silent when the last one lied as much as he breathed. Furthermore those lies led to the death or almost 5000 innocent soldiers, the wounding of many more and the ripping apart of so many families. I have never once seen you speak on this with the vigor with which you go after issue concerning abortion. Maybe you have but I have yet to see it. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I just have a problem when people pick and choose when to speak up when they are holy than thou. As for holding President Obama accountable you don't have to worry I'm am maybe moreso because I know it was a stretch for the country to elect a black man as evidence by what he deals with daily. He has to do it better and straighter than anyone. Is that fair? Nope but it reality. Contrary to belief I and many others don't agree with all he's said and done but I feel he is giving his best effort and trying to be civil respectful and inclusive more than any other recent president and almost to a fault. I'd love to see him be more decisive and less accomodating of the bull he encounters. That being said I respect the man and hope he does well because it benefits us all. Question: what is your take on the "man of god" who prays for the presidents death? How about those who are praying he fails? I'm interested in your opinion on these things.

FYI
Here is a write-up from factcheck.org. What's funny is that the objection concerning immagrants getting coverage is rooted in a supposed and assumed loophole that may or may not occur if the Bill is passed in its present form which it won't. I agree there could be an enforcement mechanism and there probably will be but its funny that these clowns are hung up on a loophole when they've fought closing the corporate loophole that has allow oil and other companies record profits at the expense of citizens. They can't it both ways. Smh
From factcheck.org:
Illegal Immigrants
Obama said that his proposal would not cover illegal immigrants, a remark that prompted Republican Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina to shout "You lie!" Obama: There are also those who claim that our reform effort will insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false – the reforms I’m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally. The president is correct: The House bill contains a section (Sec. 246) titled "NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS," which states: "Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States." However, conservative critics object to a lack of specific enforcement measures in the bill. They argue that the lack of a specific verification mechanism constitutes a loophole that would allow illegal immigrants to get benefits despite the legal prohibition. Republican Rep. Dean Heller of Nevada proposed an amendment to the bill that would have required the use of the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements program to check the citizenship of anyone applying for federal coverage or affordability credits. SAVE is the program used by Medicaid and similar entitlement programs. That amendment was voted down along party lines by the House Ways and Means Committee. Republicans have a point here: More could be done to enforce the ban. But it’s worth remembering that, as a spokesperson for the American Immigration Lawyers Association told us, attempting to get a health care credit would have legal repercussions. "Making a fraudulent claim to an entitlement program when you’re not actually entitled to it would have serious consequences for any person," the spokesperson told us, "but especially if it’s considered a false claim to citizenship, that would have serious immigration consequences that could ultimately lead to deportation." And Rep. Wilson certainly was out of bounds to call the president’s statement a "lie." He later issued a statement apologizing for his "inappropriate and regrettable" comments
