My Sorors and I are noticeably and understandably absent in this discussion. I did just want to pop in and say that I appreciate how respectful the discussion has been. I think that most mature greeks understand that this is no reason to gloat, this is a wake up call to check your processes and question your leadership. When the Zeta's situation began to play out in the public, I took no joy in that. I was as outraged as I had a right to be (considering that I am not a Zeta) and I wished my sister greeks the best and a speedy resolution to their problems. All of our organizations are made up of a cross section of a similiar demographic--African American college students or grads with at least a C+ GPA--we all have good and bad in our respective organizations. There have been some other less publicized instances of financial impropriety amongst the other organizations which shows that none of us are immune. I think that all regular posters on this board understand and respect that. It is unfortunate that our family fight has spilled out the front door of our home, past the front yard and into the street. Now the neighbors are watching and commenting, and it is not a good feeling at all. I pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha 22 years ago and my love for and belief in this sisterhood has not diminished in all of those years and it has not diminshed now. We will get through this. We have 100 years of excellence to build upon, we are strong and educated women and this has just exposed a need for some tightening of our internal processes. We can and will handle this and will be stronger for it. Well said Priss! I think this is what makes me bad about the situtation... I have really formed no opininion on the accusations, im mad because this should have been handled IN HOUSE in my opinion! <<AGREES!!!! <<<Let place emphasis on "IN HOUSE"...thanks!

I am not a new poster. I have been posting on stop hazing message board since 2005 before this board became a spin-off of the stop hazing message board. I registered to post on this board in 2008. I visit both message boards infrequently, but I will post what and when I want to regardless if it is in the media or not. I'm mad that you registered in 2008 all 9 of your posts are from 2 threads specifically about this incident. You follow AKA on twitter too? [I HEART HUEY!!! I would exalt him,but I just used my SMITE button.

Well I'm still rolling with my conspiracy theory. This is only getting major network news coverage because someone is trying to find a back door way to get at Obama.
There, I said it...
...y'all ain't gotta cosign. Very interesting theory. I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be true.

I've been getting emails and pulled aside by folks who are either GDI's or in other orgs like *WTF* is going on with your sorority as if I could possibly have an answer. I just hope this can be resolved as soon as possible.

LOL!
For the women of Alpha Kappa Alpha, I for one, wish that this matter gets resolved quickly for you all. As women who have been shown service and have beautiful women overall, I truly believe that this is nothing but a speed bump and this too shall pass.
Some folks just love to start shit, either they were bitter or are trying to be messy, but hey, gotta love the haters!
