I've been kicking this around in my head for a while and Z's comments made me stop being lazy......
Do you acknowledge members of your org when you see them in public? If you're incognito and they have on para, do you approach them and say hi?
If there's a tag on your car and one of theirs, do you wave?
How far do you go in saying hi ( a simple hi versus chapter and line, etc)?
Speak on it.................

I always speak. If I see a Brother wearing para, I'll always approach and introduce myself. On the road, I'll honk and throw up the Phi if I see a car tag.
When I lived in Ohio, I actually turned my car around and headed in the opposite direction to meet a Brother...lol. He had a car tag, and it was the first (and turned out to be only) time I'd seen an Alpha in that area. He was an undergrad brother who was in the area for the summer, so we hung out while he was there.

When I first crossed I would wave at all frat when they drove by. Not overly anxious waving but more of a nod or a "shout out hand".
I have never made it my business to introduce myself to frat when I see them on the street. I've got shit to do and the last thing I need is to sit there and have a bullshyt conversation about how he's been thinking about joining the grad chapter or blah, blah, blah....I don't want to hear it.

I speak. I'd wave or introduce myself. I rarely wear para except my key and my car tag.
I just don't like pointless small talk.
Like after the exchange of info what more do I have to say to you. Not to sound stank.

In traffic, I throw it up where appropriate. On the street, I speak in passing "hey Sis" or whatever. If we'll have extended contact; at a professional conference/someone's family BBQ or whatever, it's instinct to have the whole "where'd you cross..." convo. I don't "greet" (that is, lean in close, whisper whatever it is we whisper and wait for confirmation all before breaking the embrace) random folks unless the setting (greek picnic, UG party, roundup) calls for it.

BF speaks to EVERY Omega he runs into. He'll get up and go to the other side of a restaurant to say Hi. He throws hooks at folk in traffic. He sits and converses (do you know so and so) with every Bruh he meets.
Now let's take the other extreme...me. If we meet and you're cool and I later find out you're a Delta, we're cool. I don't blow my horn at people and I generally don't approach people I don't know. I am much more engaging with older Sorors who notice an elephant on my necklace or ring than I am with young ones. Why? Cause I've met too many crazy or poorly trained young Sorors. Being an advisor and sitting on Regional disciplinary committees didn't help. THE ISH I SAW!!! I guess if I can't vouch for the fact that you're a "good" Soror, I don't want to acknowledge you. I see BF's situation as different because their situation in terms of initiations hasn't gotten as far out of control as (I perceive) ours has. Yeah, it's busted but I'm just wondering if I'm the only one who feels this way......and whether there's a difference between the sororities and the fraternities.

I greet everyone no matter where they are. I've been at conventions and have greeted sorors in the mall. Not a Delta convention, music workshop.

I generally speak, depending on what I have going on. If I'm in a hurry, or not feeling well, I may not speak. But I will ALWAYS respond if spoken to. I'm not that good of a driver, so I rarely try and honk my horn and get a soror's attention. And a lot of times, I look up and it's a man driving the vehicle anyway. I rarely wear para anymore, either. When my chapter was having a reactivation drive--with PRIZES for the soror who brought the most sorors home-I was hitting the highways and hedges looking for sorors. I spoke to EVERY soror I saw, and obtained contact information. And I won, too. I got a gas card. ;D In the example I gave in the other post, it's not so much that she didn't go through the whole shebang--hugging and exchanging info. It was just the way it was done--the stank look, the flippant response, etc. HEY! That's the OPPOSITE of getting Zed! *leaves post singing "I'm Coming Out"*

When I was a Neo, I OD’d on the chance to meet any fellow brother of Alpha. That subsides with time and age though.
If there is a tag on our whips and we both acknowledge the tags and are side by side – Sure, I blow the horn and flash the sign to the brother. If it’s a brother I know or who knows me and we haven’t seen each other in a minute, considering time constraints, Brothers might pull into the nearest gas station for a second to catch up and exchange math.
If myself and another Bro I don’t know cross paths (as in not having to go way out the way to get to each other), I will introduce myself, we will converse, and see where it goes from there. I don’t go out of my way to not speak to any Alpha brother though if he’s right there and I’m able.

No. There are a quadrabillion Deltas. Im not speaking to every single one. I just responded to NSNs church post in the other thread. I see at LEAST 10 sorors every morning on the train.....I'd never get to work if I hopped turnstyles and busted around corners to speak. If a soror speaks to me, Iwill but I dont go out of my way to speak to everyone that I see with letters on. #1 some are perping. #2 I just dont feel like it. If I see you in distress and you have letters on, Im all there.

It just depends on the situation. If I have own nalia, and I spot a Soror with nalia own as well, I feel more obligated to speak, especially older Sorors.
The majority of the time it just "Hey Soror” and we both keep going about our business.
There are times when standing in line or in a restaurant will converse a little more.
As for driving, if the Soror and I make eye contact, I'll wave.

I've walked by sorors, giving nothing more than a smile...it's just not in me at times. I was called unsisterly because I saw a soror (I didn't know) in the grocery store, said "Hey Soror" and went back to grocery shopping. *shrug* I mean...would "hey soror, great choice on the eggs" have been a better conversation? But I will say I like to speak to everyone at conferences.

I agree with past posts saying that "when I was a neo...". Currently, if I see Blue and White, I will wave and say "hey frat/soror". But going into gripping every frat, I see is truly OD'ing. I simply shake their hand and keep it moving.

If I see a soror in naila, I will walk by say "Hey Soror" and keep it moving, and maybe honk if I see a car with a tag on it, but I don't stop and engage in conversation.
However I do try to learn more about sorors, since I'm in a new area.

I don't so much anymore. I used to wear tags, chains, nalia, and speak to every "D" I saw. As I get older, I don't have it on my tags, keychains, I don't have much nalia (besides a jacket), and I'll speak every now and again. Just depends on where I am, and what the environment is...

Seems like I the most recent to cross here.....Okay, so what, I tell all my sorors and frats hi...My chapter is a bit small here, so we are like a close knit family...
Now, don't get it twisted, I aint trying to pull over to the side of the road or have long conversations with you....I am usually wearing my pin or they may see me with another soror of mine (who BTW is a para freak).....
