We've all been on front street at one time or another and although MsPS's motives are clearly to offend rather than discuss, it is what it is. Our turn just came recently. We had to take legal measures, hire PR firm, etc..... I guess we are growing up  |

We've all been on front street at one time or another and although MsPS's motives are clearly to offend rather than discuss, it is what it is. Our turn just came recently. We had to take legal measures, hire PR firm, etc..... I guess we are growing up You know what, happy? The good news is that due to the size of your org (not reputation or notoriety, but actual size), you still have a lot of advantages when it comes to scandal and drama. I bet it gets squashed quickly and stays out of most media. I don't know how big Phi Beta Sigma is in comparison, but I know like two years ago, one of their national officers (or staff) was expelled AND sent to prison for embezzlement or some other financial impropriety. I have to hand it to Iota and Sigma....this stuff was barely a blip on anybody's radar. Chalk it up to size, lack of public interest, or the fact that they are fraternities.... but beyond that, I applaud them both for handling business properly. |

I have to admit....as unfortunate as this situation is....I absolutlely LOVE the action taken by these ladies. *shrugs*
We all must realize that tied to one another and what effects on, will eventually have an impact on the others....in some way.

I don't really see it that way.....well, I don't disagree with you KD but while I agree that the situation is sad, I think it's an exciting time.
Our orgnaizations have been on auto pilot for many years. The membership is unshaken, apathy is the order of the day and the status quo is what we defend in the name of "tradition".
To have organization members make this type of stance in encouraging and I hope that the younger members are involved. If not...they should be.
Hopefully, this will inspire other organizations members as well as the one being discussed to stand up for things other than questionable fiscal mismanagement.
In my opinion, the sad thing is that we only seem to get radical when it comes to money. I would hope every member of ever BGLO would look at this and take the same spirit of ownership when addressing their organizations programs, member services, and general reach and footprint.

You are right Cam. It seems that nothing fazes us a much as somebody messing with our money. I do believe that it was posted maliciously but that doesn't change the fact that there is a lawsuit going on.

Im going to have to interject here....her first post was just that a post. It didnt offer a comment or critique or said anything negative. It was the responses that jumped off the cat fight. I remember things being posted about ZPB and KAPSI and nobody got their panties in a bunch. I dont know what the motive was for posting it was it is but lets not act like things about other orgs have not been posted (including DST). There is a lawsuit by some AKAs against its leadership (I didnt even bother to read the whole thing). Ok, great, now we know...let's move on. But its unfair to jump down her throat for simply posting a link when people do it ALL the time. If you dont like the link, dont read it, dont comment on it...move along. This like every other post on here with disappear into oblivion. |
