1.Were women allowed to own property back then?
2.It all depends. There are two parts of me that war. I am a person who is extremely sensative to the injustices in the world. However, I am also a business oriented woman who is all about strategy, planning and vision.
Maybe the business side would have partaken(if possible )in slavery as a business, but I highly doubt it.
I am VERY passionate about justice for all.
GREAT QUESTION!!! THANKS!!!

Yes, there were women who owned slaves. Especially, the ones who were widowed.

I figured as much for the widows, but I wasn't sure outside of that. Thanks.

Just seeing this. Awwww..... FEEL ANYWAY YOU WANT. HOWEVER, BE AS SUPPORTIVE AS YOU CAN!!!!! As long as you do not send out resumes for him and constantly try to get him to be re-employed every chance you get---you are NOT working on him. IF time goes by with out him finding another job you will know if you can handle it or not. I will say this is a test to see if you guys can handle this type of thing BEFORE you get married. Awww..... The dude is quitting his job. How should I feel about this?? Is sticking by him going against my " not working on anything " rule I had going this time around?

I''ll start with the men first. I chose people that I appreciate their posting style as well as their e-personalities. Here it is: Men: Princeprimo-Because even as a newbie I have appreciated his contributions to the board. He also makes me laugh non-stop. Plus he sends me encouraging PMs every day---I mean how can I NOT love this guy. Of course there is a bias here. I am his sponsor and he is my very best friend.... Ghost-His e-personality(which as I am sure he would say is his real personality ) is AWESOME and his posts makes the most sense---especially in this senseless age of OO-A. Happy1-This guy has HEART, he is humble and I ALMOST ALWAYS FIND MYSELF agreeing with him--that's ALOT seeing as though most OOers go east while I go west. Damie- I have learned so much from this man it's sickening---the good, the bad, and of course the ugly--I am not one to let personal attacks cloud my vision. He still makes the list. Osiris- You have caught my eye recently. I like how you think--you are open and very kind. After Lent...I will most likely put you on my list of people I will catch up on FIRST. Keep up the good work. Honorable mentions: Camel Cold Frozen There are so many others that I appreciate, but these onese stand out for several reasons.

No I consider that as a "lead". He can't be everywhere at once. If you catch something he didn't, I do not see anything wrong with that. However, if you find yourself logging on to the job site everyday looking for job postings for him...um...that may very well be working.... Yet only you know how far in you are....you may decide it's worth working on anyhow. I wouldn't necessary advise the latter though, because it MAY backfire. When it does you will remember that you broke your rule--and yes you will be pissed. However, it is truly up to you Does sending job postings i come across count as " working on " something? Just seeing this. Awwww..... FEEL ANYWAY YOU WANT. HOWEVER, BE AS SUPPORTIVE AS YOU CAN!!!!! As long as you do not send out resumes for him and constantly try to get him to be re-employed every chance you get---you are NOT working on him.IF time goes by with out him finding another job you will know if you can handle it or not. Women-this list was EXTREMELY hard. I generally enjoy most of the women posters however there are a few that stood out above the rest
Can: I like her spunk. I like how she says what she feels no matter how anyone may respond and she's my best female friend in real life. She balances me out, here. The board wouldn't feel normal if she wasn't here.
LejaLa: She is very upfront, not afraid to say what she thinks in a precise, succinct and piercing way. I love it! LOL She is also like a little sister to me and I SO GET her humor.LOL Also, very few posters show as much class as she does while posting in this insane asylum
DiScerningTruth: My girl! LOL Very mature. Very authentic. Her posts are laced with the perfect amount of witt and intelligence. Also, she is not afraid to go against the grain and popular opinion au du jour. Also, I respect and appreciate her level of honesty, integrity, and loyality.
Z:I like her style, her firm stances and her contributions here. She has always been an ispiration to me and a poster I respect.
Sista: My e-cous very funny, very suportive and very positive. I like her light hearted posts. Plus she gave us the famous ARROWS LOL. She's very ingenious in her posting presence--definately an asset to the board.
AKAD:There's just something about AKAD.... LOL She fights for what's important to her and I can appreciate at that. Plus she is very smart and articulate in her posting style.
Honorable Mention: GorgeousNGreen Quiet Regal Tmo

I was going to ask the same question. Does that mean they have relinquished their status as members? I saw the same status, when FratD left the board.

I can't believe she just left us! It's just so RANDOM. It wasn't like there was a big argument or some drama she was involved in (if there was, it wasn't public). She was posting yesterday, and *BAM*! She's just gone. I wonder what happened? I wish she hadn't deleted her account. She could AT LEAST stop in and speak to us quarterly or something. Does anyone have her e-mail address?
