I wanted to make an announcement to everyone here
This weekend marks the one year anniversary of the launch and reunion of the members of OO to OOA.
For some of the new people here I will let you know a little history of OOA. On the old board, I was quite new and intrigued with some the discussions that were going on. I joined and began to develop e-relationships with some of the members. I noticed that I wasn’t the only one. Just by reading some of the posts, you could tell that the members actually “knew” the personalities of each other, some even knew others IRL. So when the sites crashed, I didn’t want to see those relationships lost. Not just myself, but for everyone. You must note, that the ties some had, went back to StopHazing.
I knew that the multiple crashes of OO were deliberate and intentional and that the quickest resolve, without interruptions was to construct another board on a completely different server, to be a possible home for OO members. (I wont get into this theory..but trust me)
Anyway - some way (and I don’t remember how) I got in touch with Quiet and she and I got to work really fast. She was instrumental in being the voice for OOA and let a lot of people know that OOA was here. Quiet also assisted with organizing the board, following up with new member sign ups, alerts/announcements, and technical issues that members had. You all don’t know how much she helped me last year, and how she continues to help me despite her busy schedule. She and I have stayed up waaaaaaaaaay past our bedtimes trying to tweak the contents of the board so that it would be just right…lol! She was and is always willing to help and her leadership and expertise is always appreciated.
Quiet thank you so much – you just don’t know. Well, yes you do. You been right here with me since day 1.
Even though he is not here…FratD also was instrumental in the organization/construction of this board. There are a lot of things that he did for us behind the scenes that made it easier for us to communicate and work. They are mostly technical things that would be too much for me to explain, but he did put in work here and I appreciate his work too.
I also appreciate Frozen’s leadership and keeping me and Quiet aware of issues, as well as handling issues that members experience. It’s important to have someone like him as a Global Moderator that not only posts regularly, but will also exhibit leadership when needed.
But really…..This is for you all. I want to really thank you all. This isn’t my board, its not Quiet or Frozen’s board, its OOA. Every ACTIVE member of OOA this is your board. Sure you’ve frustrated the hell out of me and Quiet, but I finally feel that this is home for OOA.
Since the beginning of OOA we have accumulated over 4,000 topics and over 145,000 posts. That wasn’t because of me; it was because of every one of you. You came here, you posted, you posted some mo’, you have made people’s work days fly by, made folks laugh, given people great advice, and for some – you never know, you may have impacted their lives greatly!! I know that I am not the only here that appreciates all of the creative topics in the games section, all of the serious discussions, entertainment, religion and greek life, and etc. Not one person has done all of this – EVERYONE HAS.
Everyone who has been here since day one, I appreciate you very much. Newbies, thank you. Everyone who has started a thread, thank you. GDI’s – thank you, Bible Lover’s – thank you. Hater’s – thank you…… Alter’s – thank you…..Alpha’s – thank you….AKA’s – thank you, Kappa – thank you, Omega – thank you, DST – thank you, Sigma – thank you, Zeta’s – thank you, SGRho’s – thank you, Iota’s – thank you.
GDI’s – thank you, and the list goes on…..Old Heads, Members, Neos, Pledges, Interests, Newbies......lol
I appreciate all of you guys because you have really made OOA what it is. I’ve said this before, it was never my intention to do this for me. This is for everyone.
I wish there was a way for me to list all of your names – I cant, but if I could…I would because this about everyone here!
