Did anyone else hate this movie??
It was so cliche'ish and stupid.
I can't believe that Angela Bassett starred in this mess!

The movie version was more of cross between the plays "Meet the Browns" and "Whats done in the dark"

I forgot to see it, guess this thread wont be inspiring me to take a trip Nah, wait for cable. If this is what Tyler Perry is planning on doing with future films, he should just stop now. All of his films are rather predictable and full of cliches, but some were actually pretty inspiring, IMO. I enjoyed Diary and Why Did I Get Married the most. Family Reunion was pretty lame, but nowhere near as bad as Meet The Browns.

I have the play on DVD, and I liked the play over the movie. I really think Tyler was working too hard to get his point across. There were many mistakes in the movie, and it could have been better. In my opinion Tyler tried too hard with this one.

I didn't hate it but I would it wasn't worth $8. I don't get his stuff sometimes...it seems that some movies are really good and some movies and that tv show are just bad.
I think all the people saying they loved it are saying that just because it's Tyler Perry

I have not seen the movie, however I know it has a positive message because that is Tyler's style. My favorite movie by Perry has been "Why did I get married"? That movie was also predicatable, but the characters were really good.

Tyler has exhausted his creativity and has grown stale. He needs to start breaking in and mentoring writing talent the way he does actor and singers. Angela Bassett was trying to help a brotha out because right now he is the IT man for employee black actors in film and TV and getting that guap at the box office. He needs the support of known actors to validate him even more to pave the way for more projects. He needs to loose some control and get better, more diverse writers though.

I didn't hate it, but I can say it's probably one of the more FORGETTABLE movies I've seen in a while.

Tyler reminds me of the Spike Lee era...very message orientated, to the point of turning people away.

I'd like to see him take a different "approach" with his films. After all, how many times can we watch the sista hooks up with brotha, brotha is misunderstood and the sista dumps him, only to then have the sista realize the brotha loves her, and she runs back to him? Good grief!!!
I hate to see US reduced to just one basic tenet in movies over and over again.

I saw it...I ONLY went because of Angela. She did her thing in this movie although it was a typical Tyler Perry movie....the characters were exaggerated and the plot was horribly predictable.
Also, Tyler Perry owes John Singleton some royalties for the scene with the son in the alley....that was STRAIGHT from Boyz N Da Hood.....

I figured the movie would be bad when I saw the trailer. I agree that Tyler should step back and allow younger more creative minds to work for him.

it wasn't one of his bests, but it wasn't horrible either. The credits at the end with the snippets was hilarious!

I still haven't seen this movie but nothing tops Diary of a Mad Black Woman...Madea and Joe were hilarious in that movie...they were also the only one's that made Family Reunion worth watching...
