As I think about the history of the religion threads of OO, I haven't seen any threads that dedicate themselves to the study of religion. What starts out as a "religious" thread i.e. "The Bible" never really focuses on the understanding of any organized religion nor is the Bible, Torah, etc. ever discussed.
The "biblebeaters", as they are affectionately called, has made more more threads about denouncing BGLO's than truly discussing what's more important. Could it be that they are only fire and brimstone preachers who profess they know the Bible but are in fact false prophets? Or could it be that they are so obsessed with judging the wrong that they can not see they are wrong themselves?
I want to know how much community service and time has been spent in aiding communities hit hard by the foreclosure crisis, AIDS, drugs, victims of abuse, child advocacy programs to name a few have these so-called denouncers been involved in since their denouncing. How is your ministry impacting the community other than the e-world? Also, how is your denouncing really recanting this so called allegiance you made before to some ancient pagan god, really changing the fact that you made a "pledge"? You still did it. So because I haven't, do I have the right to judge and ostracize you based on that fact alone? And why isn't their church accessible to view publically for say maybe a prayer request?
I am so sick and tired of countless long articles to read about ex-AKA,DST, SGRHO,ZPHIB,APHIA, KAPSI,QUE,Iota,Sigma's who have somehow found God after they denounced. Not only that, quotation of Scriptures without fact or discussion. Who cares? Alot of it is straight jibberish. Today's Christian or otherwise likes things to be made plain. If you are going to preach about it, make it plain!
It seems to me the religion thread, ain't that religious.

Just expressing her opinion. But she does have a point, the majority of the topics in the religion thread aren't based on ANY form of religion.\
And you and water do care about souls, I feel that Fred only cares about his opinion.
But don't call her foolish.
Doesn't it say in the Bible to not call one foolish?

Ummm, there is nothing false about my accusations. You only preached about salvation, you even stated that yourself. But in order to reach salvation, there are other things in the true walk of Christianity, that need to be understood as well.
Do you want some kind of trophy because 3 people gave their life to Christ? Isn't that what you are supposed to encourage people to do? I hope you have helped save more than 3.
No one said you didn't care about souls. I am sure you genuinely do. But you can't be a part time minister of God's word on this message board. There is nothing holistic about what you have said in these threads. I am saying, if you are going to talk about the Word. Let's really have a discussion about God's word.
Honestly, how many of those souls you saved were crackheads? Seriously. Are you beating the streets or this mb for that matter,reaching out to that woman/man who can't pay her bills because she's in financial trouble and needs to hear what God says about fiscal responsibility?

Your life needs no validation.....if you took offense, it's only because you wanted to. Look, I just want an HONEST thread, that talks about the Bible holistically,discuss EACH chapter of the Bible, and a NON-bashing BGLO thread. Like I said, what has been posted here does NOT a religious thread make. Anybody can make one or five threads on salvation. I think you genuinely believe that BGLO's are rooted in paganism; but so is ALL of everything we deal with in life. I'm just tired of you trying to villafy yourself by saying BGLO's are wrong and you are right by using the Bible. If you are going to teach, then do so by creating threads that matter. |

I'll do me, you do you homie...how bout that? If you feel compelled to go through each chapter of the Bible as a topic, knock yourself out and just do it. I'll add my input as I feel led to do.
I teach whats on my heart, and what I feel is relevant at that moment. Sometimes is purely salvation, sometimes its for re-dedication, sometimes its about general Christian living. If you feel that some things are missing from this section, hop on the battlefield and post them.
Me pers0nally, I'm a topical person. I'll read Romans, a history book on the context so I can understand it and then, I'll focus on whatever topic I feel relevant to me at the moment. I'm not a chapter to chapter teacher (although I read the entire thing for myself prior to engaging in any one topic.)

1 Timothy 4:12 "Study and show yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth."
But this ALL comes AFTER salvation. If people ain't saved, your putting the cart before the horse by teaching doctrine and Bible. They don't need to understand Melchezideck from Hebrews 11, people need to hear the gospel.
You can teach Esther all day long, and where you are spiritually, that might be what you need to do, but for others, more basic principles of the faith need to be explained.

@ What, I see the point you are trying to make, but I don't think it applies much to Jay.
As a sidenote, I have many moments where I seriously hate the term "religion" and can't stand when people ask me if I'm "religious"; it's so surface level...anyhow I say that to say that religion doesn't save souls, God does...someone can be religious and be going straight to hell due to a lack of relationship with God...anyway I'm rambling.
