Is Zeta Phi Beta Sorority blessed?
First of all, I knew that you were referring to the organization. Now, if you would like for me to tell you if the entire membership is blessed, again I do not know. Their are members of all different religous backgrounds and to do a poll and see if they feel if they are blessed is something that I will not do. Again, what I can tell you is that I know that I am blessed.

you are right but the organization itself is Blessed....Like Smile of a Child....great charitable organization but who knows what will happen to the people who run the organization. I hope and pray that they are Born Again

you are right but the organization itself is Blessed....Like Smile of a Child....great charitable organization but who knows what will happen to the people who run the organization. I hope and pray that they are Born Again In your opinion it is blessed. That is what you would like to believe, and their is nothing wrong with that. However, you might members that have an entirely different take on whether or not the org as a whole is blessed. That is why I speak for myself, and know and understand myself and my belief. |

If the God of Zeta Phi Beta is Minerva Would the God of Abraham , Isaac , and Jacob bless an organization under this type Greek mythological influence.
I do believed that Alpha Phi Alpha is blessed . They are blessed to have so many intelligent Black men belong to their organization Mr Tony Brown being my Favorite.
But would this fraternity be blessed by the God of Abraham , Isaac , and Jacob if they have embraced the very idols and symbols that were in Egypt when He told Moses to go and Tell Pharaoh to LET MY PEOPLE GO.

"I am a former Zeta who was very active for almost 10 years before God removed the specks from my eyes. To name a few conflicts with the Christian faith:
1. Placing your hand on the bible for rituals and using the bible in situations that have no relevance to God or His Word. Jesus said to take no oath and let your yes be yes and no be no. He also said render to Caesar what is his, and to God what is his.
2. Adjusting the rituals (which are already very non-Christian) to suit the needs of Zetas of other beliefs and sexual orientations. As stated in number 1, the Bible becomes a talisman and a ritualistic symbol (blasphemy) because people who don't even believe in God's Word are basically being told we can change our beliefs to accommodate them. This is the very heart of the Anti-Christ - Universal Unitarianism. Jesus did not come to accommodate, He stated that He came to divide with His truth that will not share the platform with sexual immorality or other religions. There are many homosexuals in BGLO's, a Lesbian Chaplain in Dallas. And before I left they were entertaining allowing transvestite "women", because these organizations are non-profit they cannot so easily discriminate by saying you have to be a natural born woman. While many of the same attend churches - God has specifically given His final answer on ministering to the error of such in love with rebuke and exhortation, not with accommodation.
3. While most organizations claim to be "Christian based" in depth study of the founding and national initiatives reveal the opposite. Zeta, for example has ties to the Nation of Islam, Masonry, and Eastern Star - none of which are of God. Masonry being the foundation for many GLO's believe as long as you believe in a God it does not matter which one. Zeta and Sigma being the first Sorority and Fraternity constitutionally bound are tied to the other organizations through A. Langston Taylor - the founder of Sigma and a co-founder of Zeta along with the Five Pearls. Taylor is from my hometown of Memphis, TN where both Zeta and Sigma are very strong in Membership and National Leadership. A. Langston reportedly went on to join the Nation of Islam. Notice the Million Man March which was heavily supported jointly by Sigma and The Nation. The following quote is posted on many Phi Beta Sigma Chapter websites. "Lastly, many fraternities may have supported the Million Man March in Washington, DC, on October 15, 1995, but only Phi Beta Sigma can lay claim to not only supporting the Million Man March, but being the ONLY Historical African American Greek-letter organization to sponsor it." Also look up Benjamin Chavis, a former minister who is now straddling the fence of Christianity and Nation of Islam and has changed his last name to Muhammad. He is a "notable" Sigma. I am not slamming the Million Man March, I'm just pointing out the corelations.
4. As far as the symbols of the Dove and the light, again tied to Islam and Masonry - they trod dangerously on the blasphemous. Zeta and Sigma claim to be "the light". It might appear to be harmless, but God will not compete with such foolishness. Also when a member dies, they are initiated in the Omega chapter with an elaborate burial ritual performed at the deceased funeral. A ritual that God convicted me not to be a part of. Even in death are opportunities to be a Christian witness to surviving family and friends, and trust me the deceased's GLO is the most irrelevant issue at the time. I have attended services where caskets were decked out with blue and white Paraphernalia and it made me sick to my stomach.
5. The Zeta Sorority song states:
With Fervent hearts we pray for you Zeta each day. You've always stood for the right rather than for the might. We will love you ever and forsake you never. When Zeta calls we'll answer one and all.
Zeta Phi Beta we love you so. Your very name sets our hearts aglow. You're brave and you will see that Zeta Phi Beta means victory.
Now tell me can you willingly ascribe to Unitarianism that states that any God and any belief is acceptable? Can you support abortion, sexual immorality, gender changing, blasphemy? I'm not saying you should hate people, but you should love God's truth so much that you hate sin and not so easily align with things that would be a hindrance to your soul.
I didn't MIP, I pledged.
The rituals have been revised over the many years. When I pledged, I didn't just go through my materials, but those of very old Sorors who keep up with history through the years. I sat at the feet of many and absorbed much from older Sorors who were and are very active. Much has been taken out of the handbooks with the intake process, because a lot of things are simply illegal now due to hazing laws.
I have been somewhat misquoted here, so I will go into more details. There had been heated debates on men who have changed their sex attempting to pledge sororities. The issue at the NP-HC conference was regarding Iota Phi Theta's entrance into the NP-HC. Many wanted it to stay the Great Eight, and I was one of them for several reasons. Many old heads were concerned about if we allowed one org to enter NP-HC that we would have to allow others. There have been other "types" of orgs that have attempted membership under the NP-HC umbrella. Discussions then went on to state that men posing as women had been aggressively attempting to get into sororities, and sororities were having a harder time fighting them off. To my shock and dismay, some Greeks were for it, because as you know there are many homosexuals in greekdom. And because the orgs are non-profit, there was allegedly some issue regarding us being as exclusive to even a man with women's parts. I don't recall saying that men have become sorority members, but I do know that some are trying HARD.
There absolutely have been cases with individual chapters that have altered the handbook's ceremonies to "include" sorors of other religions or the lack thereof. As I have posted, I was a regional officer for Zeta and NP-HC. I was very active, and traveled often. I participated in many ceremonies and started Zeta and NP-HC chapters in many states.
As far as the Zeta funeral, ok you got me on the verbage - but I have participated in ZPBS "homegoings" so we all know what's up on that. Most orgs call it some form of Omega chapter.
I have been away for a while. I didn't know that I had become the topic of discussion. And yes, I do consider myself a Soror to those that are Christians, even if they have not denounced. It is an endearing term for me because it simply means that these women are sisters. No Soror turned their back on me because of my denouncing, because they KNEW I was a REAL ZETA. I was a true sister. I love hard and fought harder for my Sorors. I believed in what ZPBS stood for and many of the programs I implemented in chapters still go on.
But God is real. The Word is real and there is no way around it. And I, a wretched sinner who was guilty as charged was called out by the Lord to suffer the inconvenience that comes with professing that these things at there very best cannot compete with God. And you are lying to yourself if you think that it's not a competition. There is a war going on Saints of God.
Forget what anyone on these posts has said, including me. I am human and fallible. BUT DON'T DENY THE GREAT I AM. He said, “come and I will teach you ALL things!" I let Him burn me through and through and my Greek affiliation was one of the things that He pulled me to the carpet on.
I am not here to offend, but I do know that God's ultimate truth is offensive, especially to us Christian folks sometimes. It used to and still does offend me sometimes, and it IS a struggle for me to deny myself and take up HIS cross. I've read this posting before, and again their is no such thing as the sorority worshiping Minerva. Their are no Satanic rites of passage. Now, are their members of the org that subscribe to Islam? Yes. Or any other organized religion? Yes. However, the organization itself is not a religion nor do we worship the founders....they are respected, which is different from worship or going up some hill to do sacrifices for thier namesake. None of this occurs, and therefore, I will say again: Their is no such thing as a God of Zeta, Worship of Minerva, etc.
