I always wonder about leopards that change their spots when they leave the religious sections.
Damie- I do agree with part of his partial historical facts he has given. This can be found in Encyclopedias. The part I do not agree with is the why he said Paul wrote what he wrote (i.e. because of the climate). If you look at Paul, when was he ever one to acquiesce due to foul treatment.
I do agree that men do use this passage to oppress women, while others use the very same scripture to give them freedoms beyond scriptural boundaries, AND THAT IS WHY I SAID TO LOOK AT I Corinthians 11 and I Timothy 2:8-12. This is the reason I brought up the practical aspect of looking at the WHOLE New Testament and see where women were EVER GIVEN AUTHORITY OVER MEN. DO we have women complaining in scripture? Yes! What was the solution? Choose 7 MEN among you.....
A women's lib. movement does not supercede scripture. Should men give up their authority in the home as well. When Paul discusses the authority issue at home or IN THE CHURCH, he gives us reasons for it, so who are we to deny what saith the oracles of the Lord?
