So I dont really watch all this, but this is all i have been hearing about this morning.. so I ask you this, what can be done at this point?
NBA: Foul should have been called at end of Game 4 Thu May 29, 3:32 AM ET
The NBA acknowledged Wednesday that a foul should have been called on the final possession of Game 4 in the Western Conference finals, which would have given the San Antonio Spurs a chance to even the series.
Trailing 93-91 on Tuesday night, the Spurs inbounded the ball with 2.1 seconds left to Brent Barry, who was bumped by Los Angeles Lakers guard Derek Fisher on the floor. No foul was called, and Barry missed badly on a 3-pointer before time expired.
Spurs players and coach Gregg Popovich said a foul should not have been called, but the NBA disagreed with them after reviewing the play.
"With the benefit of instant replay, it appears a foul should have been called," NBA spokesman Tim Frank said.
Had that happened, Barry would have gone to the line for two free throws and a chance to tie the game. Instead, the defending champion Spurs trail the series 3-1 and face elimination Thursday in Los Angeles.

Man please! A foul that late in the game should NEVER EVER EVER EVER be called, ESPECIALLY since he wasn't shooting. When contact was made, he was still dribbling and he wasn't in the act of shooting.
My advice to Barry, stop being a chump and go into the contact and next time they'll make the call.

Funny that the Spurs should lose on a no call...... but the correct call should have been made earlier, and it never would've come down to that. Fisher's shot hit the rim and SA would've had to foul and then it would've most likely been a 2 possesion game wit 5 seconds to go.....

This happens a lot. They need to get over it. You don't bail a losing team out like that on a questionable call.
Worse thing they could do is suspend crawford again lol.
Funny how he was involved in another spurs controversy

Jay, if your gonna call it in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarter......you should call it in the 4th too. If you been letting the boys play all game, then i wouldnt mind the no call....

A foul is a foul. Let it happen to Kobe, and I GUARANTEE the refs would blow the whistle. Whether he jumped into the defender or not, the whistle would have been blown, and Kobe would have gone to the line.
There is a reason that fouls are in the rule books. If you're not going to call them, then get rid of the rule books. I believe in equality and fairness: the rules should be equally applied towards every player in the league. No player should be above the rules or the league regardless of his popularity.
This two-tier, hypocritical, corrupt officiating system has made the NBA a joke for years, which is the very reason I don't watch it as much as I used to.
As far as I'm concerned, the NBA is on a level slightly above pro wrestling.

Kobe earns the call...not Brent Barry...lol
<===Was a die hard MJ fan in the 90's
<===believes that elite players should get calls that the Smush Parker's of the league shouldn't...lol
<===Knows this is a completely idiotic way of refereeing
<===doesn't care...LOL

You can't say the NBA is a joke or above WWF just because you feel like the call was bad

It unfortunately happens in every sport. Certain pitchers get strikes called that others don't...Greg Maddux was notorious for getting outside pitches called in his favor. Elite basketball players get calls that role players don't.

Cold, don't you think they kinda deserve it? I mean, not to give them stuff they don't deserve, but rather to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I think they have earned the benefit of the doubt when it comes to a 50-50 call. When the call is obvious, then make the call. But if its borderline, I don't have a problem with the stars getting the benefit of the doubt.

It evens itself out in the long run. The Spurs got plenty of gifts (no calls) against the Hornets. Just like Cold said, its the same in every sport. Certain offensive lineman can get away with blatent holds, certain pitchers get the 6" off the plate, and certain nba'ers get certain calls....
tis is life....
