Here is an oldie but goodie. I cant count how many drinks I have won with this one. A worker is to perform work for you for seven straight days. In return for his work, you will pay him 1/7th of a bar of gold per day. The worker requires a daily payment of 1/7th of the bar of gold. What and where are the fewest number of cuts to the bar of gold that will allow you to pay him 1/7th each day? Too late to be thinking this hard. I'll try again tomorrow.

Day 1 - give the first piece. Day 2 - give 2/7 and take 1/7 back Day 3 - give 1/7 Day 4 - Give big piece (4/7) and take back two small pieces Day 5 - Give 1/7 Day 6 - Give 2/7 and take 1/7 back Day 7 - give 1/7 Everybody walks away smiling.

A shop sells apples at $1 each. Each of these apples are wrapped in a special wrapper. You can trade 3 of these wrappers for 1 apple. If you have $15, how many apples can you get altogether?

I think you would be getting apples forever, cause the more wrappers you trade in, the more apples ou could get..so my final answer is infinite...

Dangit '91. What'd I miss? How many founders do I have? ? TWENTY TWO! <---Is not being random, thinks that is the answer You bought 15 and then turned in those wrappers to get 5 more. But then what did you do with the wrappers on the 5 you just got? You just stopped before all the wrappers were converted to apples.

Its been an ICE COLD, ICE COLD, ICE COLD week.
But, it has got steadily warmer each day, over the last five days. By this, I mean that the temperature rose by the same amount each day. The average temperature was 2 degrees C and I know it froze on exactly two occasions. I also know the product of the temperatures was over 500 degrees but below 2,000 degrees and each temperature was an integer. What were the last 5 temperatures?

The average of 2 made it easy, that and the fact that the product had to be between 500 and 2000. Trial and error...figured it out with my 3rd guess.

During a visit to a mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director what the criteria is that defines if a patient should be institutionalized.
"Well," said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub. Then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup, and a bucket to the patient and ask the patient to empty the bathtub."
Okay, here's your test: 1. Would you use the spoon? 2. Would you use the teacup? 3. Would you use the bucket?
"Oh, I understand," said the visitor. "A normal person would choose the bucket, as it is larger than the spoon." What was the director's response?

Wouldn't a normal person just pull out the tub stopper?
