You can tell Obama is hurt.
I think he is mostly upset by the performance at the Press Club yesterday. He was a bit light hearted during the Q&A.

What did you think of it? I think Obama was sad about it, but it was hurting him. I guess mostly because Wright was being so animated. He threw up the hooks yesterday at the National Press Club.

Obama Strikes Back, Denouncing Wright
By Peter Slevin WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Sen. Barack Obama today strongly criticized the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, his former pastor, saying that Wright's comments about the United States in recent days have been "appalling" and "outrageous."
Using his sharpest language yet to describe a series of Wright performances that he said left him angry and sad, Obama accused Wright of exploiting racial divisions at the same time the Illinois senator is aiming to heal them and bring the nation together.
"When I say I find these comments appalling, I mean it," Obama told reporters in firm and somber tones. "It contradicts everything I'm about and who I am. Anybody who has worked with me, who knows my life, who has read my books, who has seen what this campaign is about I think will understand it is completely opposed to what I stand for and where I want to take this country."
Obama, calling reporters together for the second time in 24 hours to address an issue that threatens to weaken his campaign, said he decided to speak out after watching videotape of Wright's theatrical performance at the National Press Club, where he attacked the U.S. government and Obama alike.
Wright "caricatured himself," Obama said.
"I have spent my entire adult life trying to bridge the gap between different kinds of people. That's in my DNA, trying to promote mutual understanding. To insist that we all share common hopes and common dreams as Americans and as human beings. That's who I am," Obama said.
"Yesterday, we saw a very different vision of America," he went on. "I am outraged by the comments that were made and saddened over the spectacle that we saw yesterday."
Obama said he had not spoken in several weeks with the former leader of Trinity United Church of Christ, who performed his marriage, baptized his his two daughters and inspired the title of his latest book, "The Audacity of Hope."
"There has been great damage," Obama said. "I do not see the relationship being the same after this."

I ain't sad about it AT ALL! Let my pastor sabotage me for something...let's say I was applying for a job, and my pastor was telling folks all kinds of stuff about me. There would be FIRE IN THE CITY! I would denounce him QUICK! Sometimes your own people will try and hurt you and bring you down. I've seen my good friend's mother AND sister try and destroy her--tear her home up, create water damage, try and destroy her marriage by telling her husband all kinds of lies, call her names, criticize her, beg for money, etc. She finally had to cut them off--and Obama's essentially doing the same thing. He HAD to do this. And the plot thickens . . .

I think Obama should join a good AME church now. Nah, I don't think it is "Divide and Conquer". Obama didn't diss him initially, and he COULD have. I think Obama's just a decent, deeply loyal person. But Rev. Wright's inability to STFU really forced Obama's hand. A coworker JUST said that Wright is guilty of not keeping family business in-house (the church being the "house").

I hate when ppl talk about how WE should keep OUR dirty laundry 'in-house." If the sh!t stinks OTHERS WILL smell it. What goes on in our communities, in our churches, he!! even in our own households are NOT private. The same way the Catholic Church Bishops playing with lil' boy booties ain't private. WE are constantly under a dayum microscope so tell your co worker she can FORGETABOUTIT!!!!

I think it's unfortunate that he waited so long. It would have been better if he did it weeks ago, politically speaking. This seems to really be hurting him in the news. Some times I wish Wright would just sit down somewhere for a few months and realize that this is hurting Obama.
But it's sad that this whole Wright/Obama thing ever went down like this. Wright isn't running for president. How did what he says all the sudden become speaking for Obama? Why didnt' someoen from his camp do a better job of slamming the media and point this out. He can't control what someone says. Wright speaks for Wright, not Obama. Somehow this got all twisted and won't go away. I think Obama needs to get tough and cuss some of these mofos out. Don't get tacky but set the record straight with authority.

You know what?? I am not mad at Wright and I am not mad at Obama for denouncing him. Hey they are both defending themselves and doing what EACH feels that they need to do. What I AM MAD AT is the fucc'n MEDIA!!! These mothab!tches!!! The American ppl are being diverted. CAN WE FOCUS ON THE ISSUES PEOPLE??!!! Obama is SOOOOoooo busy focusing on his Pastor, the MEDIA is focusing on Obama's pastor, that no one in Indiana or any of these other states he should be focusing on are hearing how he is going to help their state. WTH?!?! The MEDIA is running a damn puppet show. Are we not seeing this?? While we are here talking about and focusing on what Rev. Wright is doing and saying and where, Hilary is running her campaign, catching up and if the Saltines have their way will beat Obama. I'm UTTERLY disgusted!!!
AND on top of that, I would have rather Obama ignore Rev. Wright. Now he's looking real flip floppish. This can possibly divide the black vote. I'm voting for Obama regardless because I think he can and will BRING CHANGE. But I must say I was a lil' saddened that he denounced his pastor. Now they are playing side by side snippets of him saying he can't denounce his pastor any more than he can de own his own grandma and another snippet denouncing the Pastor -WTH? America can think for themselves. Obama has no control over what anyone else says. First it was his wife (saying this is the first time she has been proud of America, blah, blah, blah), now his Pastor? GTFOOHWTBS!!! If I was Obama, I would be FOCUSING on the ISSUES and NOT BE DIVERTED!! I don't know about you but I wanna here what YOU can do for me/America. I can give a rats azz about your Pastor. Fo' real...

Get that said Mocha. Its the media that has this whole thing blowing up. I mean has there ever been a Catholic nominee that denounced the church because of the scandals, no. You have to represent yourself. I think that politically Obama felt he had to do this, but it's bad all around. Some folks were saying on tv earlier that if he couldn't handle the Rev. Wright situation how could he be president. What situation?! The man is talking for himself.

Yeah, Priss. He must realize that he's hurting Obama. That's the only thing. Cuz now he can't go anywhere... everything he says is on CNN so it's like they're linked. That's why I think Obama was a bit slow with dealing with it... I think he had hoped it had gone away. I'm sure someone in Hillary's camp is calling the networks every time Wright leaves the house.

NO MATTER WHAT REV. WRIGHT DO THE MEDIA WILL BE RIGHT THERE TO CATCH IT. SINCE WHEN HAVE CNN CARED ABOUT A NAACP DINNER? IF THAT MAN FARTS THEY WILL BE THERE TO SMELL IT. THEY ARE LOOKING FOR ANY AND EVERYTHING THEY CAN FIND TO DESTROY OBAMA AND NOTHING THEY ARE COMING UP WITH IS COMING FROM OBAMA HIMSELF (for the exception of PA and him saying they are bitter and cling to their religion and guns -but we know that ish is true. Either you pray about it or take matters into your own hands. That ish ain't nuffin new). IT'S EASY TO SAY REV. WRIGHT SHOULD GO SOMEWHERE AND SIT DOWN BUT WE ALL KNOW WHAT HE IS SAYING IS TRUTH. SOMETIMES THE TRUTH HURTS BUT IT IS WHAT IT IS. WHAT PRESIDENT YOU KNOW GOT INTO OFFICE AND DID EVERYTHING THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO DO??? THE GOAL, RIGHT NOW IS TO GET IN THE OVAL OFFICE!! POLITICIANS PARTICIPATE IN POLITRICS -IT'S TRADITION. THEY SAY WHAT WE WANT TO HEAR TO GET IN. BECAUSE OBAMA IS BLACK DO YOU REALLY THINK HE IS ANY DIFFERENT?? OBAMA IS A POLITICIAN AND HE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DELIVER ALL OF WHAT HE IS PROMISING. IT IS damn NEAR IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE HE HAS THE BLACK TAX. THEY AREN'T GOING TO MAKE IT EASY FOR HIM BUT I DO BELIEVE ONCE AGAIN THAT HE WILL BRING UNITY AND CHANGE AND WILL BE ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH MOST OF WHAT IS ON HIS TO DO LIST BUT NOT ALL. IT'S TOO MUCH AND AMERICA IS TOO FUCC'D UP RIGHT NOW. WE NEED A WHOLE LOT OF REPAIRING AND OUR SUPPORT SYSTEM IS STRESSED RIGHT NOW. I'M SO HEATED BECAUSE I SEE THE CONSPIRACY CLEAR AS MO'FO DAY AND GUESS WHAT? IT'S WORKING...

Get ready, this will be a long one, and my time on here is limited, because I got a new gig. I will admit off the top, I'm typing off of soundbites, I haven't been able to see entire speeches, but here goes... I’m upset about this Obama-rev. Wright “scandal.” The main reason is because, I have this desire to have both parties escape this drama with a better image, but it won’t stop until one or God forbid BOTH are torn down and riddled away into the annals of American pop culture trivia… Who was the crazy Black man whose character was destroyed in the 2008 U.S. Presidential election? A. Barack Obama B. Rev. Jeremiah Wright C. Tavis Smiley D. All of the Above I was okay with the Bill Moyers interview. The tone was different. I could even give a pass with the NAACP meeting, because it was amongst his own, a "safe" environment. Even though the media was there, it could still be said that he was speaking for a certain audience. However, the presentation that Rev. Wright gave at the National Press Club meeting was a letdown. You HAVE to have your audience in mind. It's not that he was not keeping dirty laundry out of the streets, it was that his delivery was not appropriate for the audience. YES, he is a black preacher. YES, he is animated. YES, he has a different view of the world. HOWEVER, the National Press Club is not able to RECEIVE the message that Wright has in the same way that his church members can, the NAACP can, or his family can. It's about DISCRETION People!!! That's why I was impressed and happy about the Bill Moyers interview, because I felt he took into account the audience that would see it. His appearances should have had nothing to do with him protecting Obama. It was all about talking for himself. The dude had a GREAT Opportunity to do some great damage control and PR for HIMSELF, and when it mattered most, he fell short. Listen...the man has done great things and shaped a community and inspired many for over 30 years. He obviously is proud of that, but he found out that his legacy to the world was being written by the media. WHY on earth would the man take the risk of giving those same people the artillery to assassinate his character, legacy and good deeds? With their OWN cameras and tapes, not something that you can say was stolen from your church and taken out of context? Now, he may say that he will be judged to an eternal standard, and what the world thinks about his actions doesn't matter. That sounds great, but if that's true...why did he feel the need to speak up? I understand why, I just wish he'd done it differently, with discretion and some consideration of his audience. Media and others will vilify him, Black people will defend him to a fault. Barack Obama attempted to be in the man's corner, and it backfired. Rev. Wright said he's only disagreeing publicly because he's a politician. When it's OBVIOUS that regardless of what he's said the media continuously ties them together, and the pastor does the same and more by attacking Obama's integrity, it's time to part ways. Don't forget this isn't the first time that Obama's word has been questioned. Remember the whole Canada NAFTA thing when the aide supposedly said to Canada not to worry Obama was denouncing NAFTA for the media? This is a similar thing, EXCEPT it was recorded and delivered to the Press Club, by a man who at the time was undeniably linked to Obama. Some would argue that Rev. Wright’s "level" of exposure was reached BECAUSE of his link to Obama. Sure it may have been exposure that was warranted earlier, but it wasn’t. The main issue I have is this whole, “the U. S. government started AIDS.” Believe that statement or not, that man has ABSOLUTELY NO evidence, to point to that would corroborate that claim. Talk about how drugs have been pumped into our communities. Talk about how federal prisons have a population with a disproportionate ratio of African-American men to Caucasian men. Those things at least have movies that have been made about them. Conspiracies exist. I believe that, but one that SEEMS so fantastical HAS to have some evidence presented, especially to that audience you’re addressing. I’m upset at this situation. I hate it. While I believe in the cause and work of Reverend Jeremiah Wright, I am disappointed at his approach and decorum in recent days. I HATE FEELING THIS WAY! It is a sad and deplorable situation. What’s done is done. Obama has rejected his pastor, and the FREAKING media knotheads like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly, et al, get to gloat and proclaim (falsely) that they were right all along. Why couldn’t Rev. Wright see that? Why did he get enticed by the lime light. Again, I do feel that Rev. Wright has the right and need to defend himself, I just feel it should have been handled differently. He was quiet for a while, but got the itch and went on his barnstorming campaign to black churches across the country, who apparently inflated his ego to where he felt “”invincible” to the scrutiny of the press. Which brings me to my last point. NO Reverend Wright. This episode was NOT an attack on the Black Church. To say that is to categorize every Black church and pastor in the same hermeneutical and homiletical neighborhood that you live. It’s not right. Every African-American pastor is NOT Rev. Wright. Every Black pastor does NOT believe in the conspiracies that you do. Every pastor of color is NOT as “expressive” as you are to drive a point home. To infer such is an insult to the diversity of our culture and believers. I’ll use an OO example. Water, Jay, Denounced, et al, are obviously ministers of the gospel. You may not agree with their approach or delivery. You may not think they’re right, but you’d be hard pressed to say they’re NOT preachers. Aren’t they black? (BTW, I don’t know about denounced, I’m only assuming) Are they ANYTHING like Rev. Wright? I don’t think so. The churches I’ve attended have passionate pastors, and I’ve heard similar statements from some but not all. Each delivery was unique and gifted. To wrap them all in the Rev. Wright mold would do them a disservice. I’m still upset about this, and I’m going to go take a few breaths. I’m sorry for taking so much screen space. You don’t have to read it. I probably didn’t have to type it, but I have, and now I’m posting it. Excuse my grammar and spelling, because I ain’t checked it.

It's VERY upsetting Ghost! It's a VERY UNFORTUNATE situation but the bottom line is it ain't about Rev. Wright. It ain't even about the black church. It's about Saltines are not ready for a BLACK president so that are using ANY and EVERY tactic to use against Obama. This shit is RIDICULOUS!!! His Pastor? His Pastor? C'mon y'all his Pastor? Like Damie said, what about his Barber?? Have you heard some of the convo's that go on in Black Barber shops? WTH?? I'm tired of hearing about it because we are no longer focused on the ISSUES. Even if we weren't talking about the elections or the campaign, what about current gas prices and the fact that I'm driving to go to work to pay for gas to go to work. Food prices are rising, now I gotta make choices. Can I eat AND go to work AND pay for gas. OK, maybe I'm being a lil' extreme but that's REAL TALK for some folk less fortunate right now. But are they addressing that. HELL NAWL Cause all I'm seeing and hearing is Rev. Wright and Obama. Where is Hillary? What is that chick and her hubby up to? He could be somewhere getting his d!ck sucked right now while she's out dodging bullet in Chicago but we won't be hearing about that now will we??? This is some ole BS!! ISSUES!! We HAVE ISSUES and I KNOW the world is laughing at us because once again it's all about non-sense. They might as well focus and headline T.I. and Tiny's wedding, but just like some of the madness I just mentioned WHO GIVES A FVCK??? It's FINAL!!! I'M MOVING TO CANADA!!!

What does Reverend Wright offer but more of the same old B.S.? Nothing I have heard will help my daughter pay for college when the time comes, or obtain a mortage, or even assistance in helping her start a business if she chooses to. I am absolutely tired of brothers who offer the regurgitated words of the 60's to address problems of 2010. Regardless of fair or unfair, Wright has hurt Obama's chances because Obama cannot win without moderate white people. The numbers simply do not support it. So when Rev Wright talks about the evil America, and how whites deliberately put drugs, guns, and AIDS into the black community, it only enhances Hillary. I will not vote for Hillary. It will be Obama or McCain. Rev Wright should consider the bigger picture, but he won't. Sorry my people, I love everyone on this board, but in my humble opinion, Rev Wright offers nothing of value to myself or my aspirations in life. He is more of the same old BS that has never gotten us anywhere.
